Well, I just got home and found out my mom just hit a calf moose on her way home from work. Thank God it wasn't a mother or bull. Windshield is smashed and I hear she has some scraps/cuts on her hand. The moose is okay (for those "peta" people) from what I hear. If it is injured, they'll shoot it and give it to a needy family to butcher for food.

You just never know what will happen. That's what comes with living in Alaska. Well wishes and prayers warmly excepted. Any who, this was just caught me off guard and had to post.

Glad to hear your Mum is ok. Saw the results of a few car/moose collisions while on fishing trips in northern Ontario. Lots of drivers don't survive the experience, so your Mum is lucky.

On the other hand, moose meat is delish!

On the east coast we have a problem with deer.

My neighbor hit a six point buck (killed it) on his 2 month old Harley Fatboy ($9,400 in damages) and only hurt his ankle.

You just never know.
