Yep, I've been hanging our here for a while, mostly lurking and reading. I knew it would probably lead to an outflow of $$ on knives sooner or later.

I've been thinking for a while about getting a nicer knife, and the Reeve knives seem to standout as a very good option.

So, after looking all over the place in the picture archives, I fell in love with the Stars and Stripes motif. But, alas, it was impossible to locate. I searched for over a month, doing probably 1000 different versions of searches on the net. I called everybody under the sun, and nobody had one.

So, I finally did some last ditch searching, and lo & behold, I found one NIB at a dealer. So, I put in the order immediately. Well, it was not meant to be, as I called the dealer to make sure he actually had it, but it was a lefty model.

Feeling down in the dumps, I went to what seemed like page 12 of the search, and found another knife, on yet another site. I immediately sent him an email asking if the knives (yep, two of them!) were available. Luck was on my side...

...I scored a large Stars & Stripes Sebenza and a small Stars & Stripes Sebenza. Both are mint condition, both have the box and the birth certs. Both were made in the same month in 2006, three days apart. AND, the price was screaming good.

Although I'm now $700 lighter in the cash department, I have a matching father and son pair of Stars & Stripes Sebenza's for me & my son.

Pictures will be forthcoming in April (I'm out of the country for a while).

Now I'll be picking up a reverse freedom version in the coming weeks, as I want to have it engraved for a friend of mine, who'll be retiring from the Navy soon.

So, thanks y'all for all the informative threads and wrangling. Oh, and the pictures, also!

Glad to hear you scored what you were after.
Just gave my son his first Sebenza this weekend, it's nice to see him enjoy it.
Being a south paw I'd like to know where you're finding in stock left hand versions?

Straight River Knives. Talked to the owner on Friday, and he's a very nice guy.

Nice scores.......

Hope you don't think that you will be stopping at just two

Good for you.

I know what you mean, as my newly acquired large Sebenza was my first, and before lurking on the forums I couldn't tell you who Chris Reeve was if you held a gun to my head!

It does feel good to finally do the deed.
