I previously had a small sebbie, traded for it and it was a bit beat up on the handles. I sent it back to CRK and they made it brand new again. I liked it, but knew immediately I wanted a large one. I sold the small, it was an old style with the shiny blade, to a fellow forumite (thanks Matt!) and used the money towards a large new style from another fellow forumite (thanks Chris!).

It is by far the best folding knife I would have imagined wanting. I was not too keen on the stonewashed blade at first, it does look like a piece of galvanized, but I have put this thing to the test and the blade doesn't show any wear. I am getting used to the finish, but more or less the finish isn't what's doing the job.

Top rate knife, I don't believe I'll part with this one. It's already needing a good sharpening, probably do that tonight. I mean I beat the hell out of it already and you'd barely know.

I forgot to add, I'm now a Sebenza Freak too, so no offense intended.

Welcome and come on in!

They are hard to beat, I've the Zulu Trio and love em, but for me the small is the ideal size. Had one of the older style and passed that along for safe keeping with StJames.

They be nice knives for sure.

I've been impressed with my William Henry Carbon Fiber Spearpoint lately, though, it's thin, but not too thin, and the lock up is great, so I've been wearing that clipped in the pocket and Sebenza on the belt, but that spot is where my knives make cameo appearances. Today it's the David Boye Persona fixed blade with Desert Ironwood hidden tang handle.

Can't just have one! which my wife will never understand....

Brandon-

I always liked the polished blade of my small decorated Sebenza better than I liked the stonewashed finish on my large plain Sebenza. The solution is simple. I sent my large Sebenza back to CRK to have the hollow grind polished. The price for this is a mere $10.

You lucky guy!

The Sebenza has been on my mind since Dennis Wright showed me his own personal piece. I know he has an excellent selection at his shop, but just seeing one that's been really used, yet still in top-notch shape, had me convinced.

At first I thought of the smaller one, but I'm now thinking of the large, plain edge version. Damn, gotta really save!

swong13-

Thanks for the info, I'd wondered what they would charge and hadn't bothered to find out. I'm still trying to decide if I can get used to it or not. I'm using it every chance I get, I don't think it's gonna be hard to get $300+ out of this knife and it still be in perfect shape. I'm already thinking this is the knife I hand down to my son in another 15 years.

Of course, my wife will have to understand when I have to buy a 2015 Sebenza to replace it!

My son (he's 11) has already decided that I am handing my Sebenzas down to him. When I sent my large Sebenza in to have my name engraved on it my son told me to just use my LAST name and not my first name.
