This is one I put together over the weekend. The steel is a mistery to me. It looked like it was at one time a steel circus tent stake that was found by a friend along the Williamette River which runs threw Portland, Oregon. It had many pits and was 100% rust when I got it. After sparking it it looked like it had enough carbon in it to harden up so I forged this blade more as a test than anything else. It hardened up just fine and turned out pretty decent. The blade is just under 4" with wrought iron fittings and elk stag for the handle. Its ruffly 7 1/2" overall. I was really hoping the steel would totally surprize me and be shear steel but no luck.
