You think Chris might ever go back to making the umnumzaan without the LBS?

I just ordered one cause I liked it so much, but the LBS kills the knife, I keep going back and forth if I should just deal with it or skip on the knife, I like my things new so buying a used one is not an option for me. I will probably end up sending it back which sucks because for a minute I thought I could live with it but now I'm pretty sure I can't. Would Chris Reeve make me one without it if I ordered it directly? I guess you know as well as the next guy but their customer service is always so well praised I'm wondering if I might be able to get away with that, I'd be willing to wait for it...I'm looking for some educated guesses...I guess.lol

If that is the case then I'll have to lie to myself enough times till I'm convinced that I actually like it and just keep it.

Can I ask why you don't like it? I don't care much for it either, but it is not a deal breaker for me.

I think it is here to stay thanks to people not understanding the (then) new lock interface and taking things into their own hands and screwing things up.

CRK put the lbs on the Zann because some idjots wanted to bend the lock bar too far when they closed the knife.

An idjot is a nice way of idoit. Unsmart is a nice way of saying dumx.

I have 2 old model Zaans .....love them. I wouldn't get a newer model Zann with the smaller pivot and the lbs,

I don't think they have the character or the better looks the old model has.

To the OP: I would definitely try to find an old Zaan with the big pivot and without the lbs:thumbup::D

Aesthetically I much prefer the old pivot/sans OTS on the standard Zaan, but actually prefer the new configuration on the WC Startac - somehow it makes for a sleek look in my eyes.
