You wanted a Leek, but you got a serrated Blur...

LOL, the things knife nuts do in their spare time...gotta love us!

Now I just have to figure out how to get the darned tip back on this thing. Those Worksharps are brutal if you're a newbie. Perhaps because I have the cheap one...

You have to release the trigger when the tip is still on the belt. Bring the blade to a stop as you release the trigger: do not pull it through all the way!

Exactly. Between not letting the tip cross the finish line, and always keeping the blade in motion so as to avoid accidental recurves, you’ll do just fine.

The only really irritating thing I have found about the worksharp are the lateral scratches on the sides of the blade that tend to develop. It can be mitigated by taping the side of the blade before sharpening but that’s a PITA.

I did something similar with my 0350. Didn't like the recurve.

Yeah, I'm going to have to say that, ummm, yours definitely looks better than mine. :) Nice job!

A Wicked Edge will fix the tip.

I rounded a brand new Manix 2 tip because I got cocky.

I ended up sending it back to Spyderco and they fixed it - but I made me look for some other way to sharpen. That landed me on a Wicked Edge. You can make “factory” looking bevels and the pointiest tips. Which is what I prefer.

Damn that WE system, I keep seeing so many great results from it, and my combined purchases of various sharpeners could have probably afforded one already.

I know what you mean.

I have a DMT Aligner, a Ken Onion Worksharp, and a Spyderco Sharpmaker before I just broke down and bought a Wicked Edge.

In all fairness I do still use the Sharpmaker to do touch ups.
