A Hotlinking Error Has Occured!

Hmmm...thats odd, let me check.

Well I looked and it is working for me...are you sure you don't have something configured wrong?

you have to cut and paste, not sure why but happens lot with links in message boards. hope that helps.

It seems that you are allowed to link to the pictures on that account. Too bad, I would have liked to get a look at that bowie.

OK...this is beginning to piss me off...one more time! I am trying Geocities now...stupid 150m.com

Showers: it's the same thing at geocities... they don't want other sites to drain their bandwidth because people link pictures online, so what they do is that when thye detect that the picture is linked by an outside host, they don't let the picture to open.

Hey, I have used www.mysitespace.com and I can paste the url for the actual picture and it will show up on my posts. When you open your picture like you have, right click and go to properties. This should give you the URL for you pic. Copy that and paste it using the IMG feature in your post. Maybe that will work. If not, try www.mysitespace.com This is a free service.

The error message is pretty clear:

A Hotlinking Error Has Occured!

<b>
We have detected a hotlinking error. Hotlinking is when you link to images or NON html files on 150m.com from another host. Hotlinking is not allowed for our FREE Accounts. Hotlinking is allowed for our paid accounts. Your account can be upgraded in the user section when you have logged in.
</b>

You can't see it if you are not a paid member! The WEB didn't used to be like this, but money often spoils a good thing.

Showers,
Here's your pic. I use www.boomspeed.com for hosting... just take the URL of the photo and put V-code brackets on each end of it, like this: [ img ]image.url/knife.pic[ /img ] Except without the spaces.

Nice piece of work. I wish my first try at forging looked so good.
That style blade, like the supposed original Bowie or whatever, is pretty interesting. Not a bad interpretation of it at all... perhaps a bit small, but I cant really guage size accurately, and nothing wrong with smaller than the original.

I dunno how good a knife rebar makes... suppose a core of higher grade steel could make it work out alright... although I know some of the smiths that hang out in the Shop Talk forum has made rebar knives successfully.

Oh yeah, I also resized the pic, and cropped out excess white-space, using MS Paint.

Hope this helps :)

Thank you for putting it on a host that actually works :) . As I said before this is my first forged knife...which I did a long time ago from what you can see of it. I was just practicing (as you must do) and I really didn't care for the turn out so I never finished it (Notice no handle and is as blunt as a spoon)...but still to this day I make some of my knives out of rebar. I don't know, I just like the stuff ;)...

Anymore comments?

Love the blade shape, although it looks nothing like a Bowie to me. I'd like to see it with a cord wrap handle. What is the size of it?

Blade Length: 5"
Entire Length: 7"
Weigth: Approx. 10oz.

As I said this is an attempt to James Black's Bowie...doesn't mean it is. Plus it was my first knife.
