Hey everyone, I have been wanting to get a few different serrated Spydies to add to my current lineup of PE ones. I am planning on getting a Pacific Salt SE and a Lil' Matriarch along with one more. I know favorites change all the time, but what would be your top 3 SE FRN knives that you carry/use the most?
Thanks everyone,
Ryan

I don't have any but I want one so ill be watching this thread..

Just curious.. Why the H1 over VG10? (Pacific-endura) I've always wondered if one was better for full SpyderEdge

Yes much better, H1 is a work hardened steel, the process of grinding the serrations is what does the hardening, not a heat treatment. The edge retention on a PE H1 is lackluster at best but a full SE H1 blade's edge retention/performance is exponentially better, approaching some super steels.
Get one! As a knife lover you owe it to your self to experience it. Plus the other properties of H1 are awesome too- almost zero rust prevention required (rinse it off with water and your good to go), can very easily be brought to a high level of polish, pretty easy to sharpen... All in all its no S90V/204p/m390/M4 but it's just as desirable in its own ways and if you need a knife you can expose to salt water/spray on a daily basis there's no better choice.

I've had my SE endura 4 a while now and I love it. It's a great utility blade for cutting anything and everything you would need to. I also really want a SE tasman salt and I plan on getting one soon.

If we keep it to folders:
Salt1
Pacific Salt
Tasman Salt

H1 and SE is very very good for a beater; no chipping, great edge holding and sharpens up fine.

Excellent info! I thought I was set in getting a Pacfic Salt in PE but I might have to try out the SE version.

Yup, I started out wanting a PE, but others' posts convinced me to go with serrated not just cuz of the whole work hardening thing (I believe the PE is almost just as hard at the edge) but because it'll tear through bunker easier. Plus I already have a PE fishing knife.

Anyway, the Pacific SE is my only FRN Spyderedge so I'm gonna have to go with that. Though I also carry my SE Delica a lot, I got the stainless handle version.

I have only recently started using Spyderedged blades.
The only ones I have are a Native and a Byrd Meadowlark Hawkbill.
These two knives have really changed my mind about serrated blades.
They are serious cutting tools and a welcome addition to my work edc.

Kitchen knife
Harpy
Matriarch

Some people are bashing serrations over in the crk forum...they don't know jack :)

Caly 3, Calypso jr, and Dfly. I've been carrying 1 of these 3 for about 4 years....usually the Caly3 or the Calypso jr(micarta).

SE's are Not hard to sharpen if you know how......corners of a SM work great!

Pacific salt and Tasman salt!

Se in h1 is amazing stuff. I love both of these knives as much or more than ANY of my higher end folders! It took me a long time to talk myself into the tasman, but it has turned out to be WAY more useful than I ever imagined! But my reground Pacific salt is still my favorite salt knife and probably my favorite spyderco. Definitely my most used spydie...by a wide margin.

...one other thing I love about se h1 is how it sharpens. I find that despite holding an edge MUCH better than pe h1, se h1 is more or less just as easy to sharpen and will take an unholy sharp edge! With the sharpmaker and the uf rods I am able to keep my se salts hair whittling (literally) sharp. And buddy, when you can put that kind of edge on spydercos serrations, you better handle that thing with some respect. They bite hard if you get careless. :)

My Stretch is a zdp 189, but I'm sure I would still like that knife in any steel.
