As a newbie I get real excited at each of new 112s I add to my collection! So far I have about 10, all are oddball so far (what I like best) I day dream about stoping at a yardsale or some old little country store and discovering a box of rare and/or valuble Bucks ! Like looking in the bottom of a old display case and pulling out a brand new 1964 110 (dusty of course) !!!!!!!!!!! Then it hit me ....All you old BUCKROOOES must have some really neat storys of finding rare Bucks for your collections, now is your chance to share!!!!!!!!! Must be mostly true, search tips are also encourged !!!!!!!!

I find a few at gun/anitque shows , a while back i happened to strike up a conversation with a guy and i mentioned collecting Buck knives and he said i have some buck knives i'd sell so i went to his house and here's what i got

card right now and call him tomorrow.

Scott,

SWEET KNIFE!! I am lovin the scrimshaw! I bought a Buck that appeared to be scrimshaw from the photo and the Ebayer selling it claimed it to be scrimshaw.
Turned out it was a plastic scale with imprinted scrimshaw.....not exactly what I thought! I kept it and use it for whatever, whenever....mostly a yard knife.
I would love to find other examples of scrimshaw Bucks.....anyone else out there with some Buck model with scrimshaw???

HOE3

This is my best find, for 110s, in one year. The two stags with graphics (Ducks and Bears), belong to my son and daughter though....I'm working on getting them!

Thanks

Armand

The best deal for me was last year when walmart was selling out the remaining 112 christmas tins,$8 sealed in the tin. They aren't old or rare, but I was glad to get them.

I was at a Gun show once and went by a table with a mint 184 BuckMaster. It was an early production before the patent pending marks but after the compass was moved to a pouch on the front of the sheath. It had the box and all the paperwork as well. I asked the guy at the table what he wanted for it and he said he was selling it for a friend and he wanted $100.
Well it just so happened I had a little extra money that day so I bought it. It's one of the top three of my favorite knives now. The next work day I called Buck to see if they had any of the large pouches that go on the sheath above the one with the compass left and they did. So I ordered one of those and put it on the sheath.

Best i ever scored was a standard 110 in the leather sheathe, brand new for $5.00. I was outside changing the plugs on my truck when a tweaker pulled up on a bike and asked me if I would buy it for five bucks. I figured "i'd better buy it from him before he stabs me and takes my $5 anyway.

Freakin' scooter tramps. Scum.

All of my Buck best buys have nothing to do with how rare they are or how much they cost. To me, they are all priceless, and hopefully they will be priceless to my son someday too. Mine are the 110 I bought him the day my wife and I found out he was a boy, the 119 I bought him for his first Christmas, and the collector's tins I will continue to buy him every year until he tells me to stop. He just turned one last month, so it will take some time to find out which will become his favorite, but it will be worth the wait.

Honestly?.... The best Buck buy of lately has to be the Hartsook for $22! Small, as sharp as can be, Bos heat treat. A fantastic little knife when cord wrapped. Slips right in the pocket.

I bought two buck 112 with BG42 steel blades in collector tins with sheath for $70.I gave one to each of my sons for Christmas a few years back.these are great knives.
