Hello Guys,
Im Roy and im a BM junky!
Im Here to talk about a common question that i get alot.
Whats the best EDC?
Well first of all lets face it, there isnt one.
Through the years i carried alot of BM EDC knives (only EDC, I hate Fixed...but thats for another time...) and I came up with the best knives for certain prices.
Im not gonna teach you what you need to look for, cuze you can do that in the internet without my help. But im gonna give the best BM EDC in my opinion.
50$ - 100$
527 Mini-Persidio Ultra
555HG Mini - Griptillian

101$ - 200$
940 Osborne (10/10 my fav)
470 Emissary
915 Triage
950 Rift

Thats it. I hope it will help you.

I think the Rift and the 581 Barrage are closely matched, though I do like the bolsters and the M390 on the 581. I do prefer the 930 Kulgera over the 940, but since it's discontinued, I guess it doesn't count.

Welcome to Bladeforums Roy. Hope youll stick around.

I just got the Triage, and im looking forward to see, how it will stand up for work-carry. First impressions are good though , although it seems a tad too big. For regular EDC though, id have to vote for the Mini-Griptilian.

My two last BM purchased (2 years ago) were 2 Rukus (large SBk and large satin PE)... next will be certainly a large satin PE onslaught.

Thx man!
I will stick around. I agree the 915 is too large but I think it is worth it.
And like yourself im looking forward to see if it will get 10/10 im my list.

The Rift is my vote for best EDC. It's plenty strong yet the edge is thinned out enough to make it a great sliver. It has a nice tip plus the reverse tanto gives it some tip strength. Plus its the perfect size IMO and has the best lock out there, the AXIS.

I joined BF IN 2001 to get an answer for this specific question... "What is the best Benchmade?" diddnt take long to figure out... It's a Sebenza!

Torrent 890 or Barrage 581. The 890 is sexy and light. The 581 is beefy and I LOVE the M390 steel (gets scary sharp).

Mine are:

For a sheeple type of environment
$150
Mini-Ritter in M2 with custom G10 scales
Mini-Ritter in M4 with custom Micarta scales

For a more sheeple free type of environment
[/U] $200 - $300
Large Ritter in M2 with custom Corian scales
Large Ritter in M4 with custom Micarta scales

I'm still waiting for someone at Benchmade to have a brainstorm and release a 943 in M390. Easy money:thumbup:.

What is that Sebenza, I never heard of it....

You might be trolling me hard, but...

The Sebenza is a rather famous knife made by Chris Reeve Knives. It is expensive, and is considered a semi-custom knife. Many claim that it is the among the best knives ever made.

I'm one of those converts to the cult of CRK, though still a bit of a Benchmade fanboy. I carry my 581 and small Sebenza every day

I like the Benchmade 940. I also like the 730 Ares and the 804 AFCK! Those are the ones I like the BEST! Kevin :D

I've been thinking about the 940 for EDC. I currently EDC a Spyderco Endura in ZDP-189 steel.

I'm thinking I want something smaller than the Endura (close length), the BM 940 is only .5 inches smaller, which I'm not sure is small enough... Would there be another knife a little smaller that would fit?

Also, how is 154CM vs ZDP-189? I have other knives in S30V and VG-10 if they are comparable.

How are the grips on the 940? They look slippery.

Where's the best deals on 940's? What would be considered a good price?
