Ok one rule. Please lets keep this thread civil. If someone posts a knife you hate. Do not say so...or start a debate about the merits of one knife vs another. This is a friendly and hopefully fun discussion.

What knives do you think everyone should own at least once in their life before you "Kick the Bucket??

For me in no particular order but after over 36 years of knife collecting I gotta say..

Sebenza
Tom Krien TK-1
Spyderco Delica
Buck 110
Strider AR
SAK "camper"
Icon folder by Mark Terrell
Any fixed blade by Walter Brend
Buck General
Spyderco Police
Benchmade AFCK
Graham Razel
M16 By Kit Carson..

The list could go on but you get the idea. I have had or owned or currently own all of these knives except the Brend and the Carson. Since it is the Xmas season feel free to send me one...:D

Hmm. Before I bite the big one, I think I'd like to own:

Yes, a Sebenza...just to see what the fuss is about.
A Busse or two...just to see what the fuss is about.
A Randall...just to see what the fuss is about.
A Ritter Grip...'cuz I want one.
Salt 1...just to see how good H1 is.

Many more Fallknivens, especially the high end fixed stuff.

AND A WHOLE BUNCH of custom traditionals!!

I say...

Large and Small Sebenza (so you can figure out which one is right for you.)
Spyderco.....
Military, paramilitary, persian, dodo, poliwog, lava, lum chinese, caly3/ukpk, urban, cricket, spin, ROCK LOBSTER for sure. Just to feel the designs in your grip at least.
Benchmade 710
Buck 110
Case swayback jack
A real Anso knife preferably a 67
fallkniven U2
Case sodbuster jr.
Oh man.... I'm going to have to come back to this later.

I'm going to keep this nice and simple.

A Chris Reeve Folder (I prefer Umnum to Seb)
An Axis Lock (710 or AFCK is a great place to start)
A Busse Fixed Blade (The bigger the better!)
A Balisong (Not a CCC, but a 42 or better)
One of Spyderco's offerings (Para for me :D)

:D I'm not picky.....

CRK one piece fixed blade(any kind)
Busse(any kind) or three
Todd Begg folder(any kind)
Strider SMF(any kind)
CRK Umnumzaan
Swamp Rat Rodent Waki
Benchmade AFCK(M4)
at least one Randall

If I only owned these 19 knives I would have a complete collection.....:)

Let's see,

Strider SMF
Strider SNG
Spyderco Military
Spyderco Manix (original full size)
ZT200
Emerson QCQ 7B
Emerson Commander

I've owned a lot of knives, but I can really only think of a few that really come to mind.

An early Case slip joint... Everyone should own at least one slip joint, and be able to appreciate the quality from days gone by. You pick the pattern

An early Schrade slip joint... I haven't heard of anyone that didn't like their 1095

Buck 112... I know it goes against the following of the 110 Gods, but I like the 112 WAY better than the 110. It fits my hands like a glove. If the 112 isn't big enough to handle the task, get a sheath knife...
Besides, where else can you get a quality U.S.A made folder with a leather sheath for about 30 bucks ?

All and any Emerson
Buck 110
Great Eastern Folder
Spyderco Military
Any SAK
CS Ultimate Hunter
Kershaw OD-1
RSK Grip
Mora
Opinel

Any Tony Bose Folder
Randall Fighter
A "real" Emerson CQC7
Any Ed Fowler
Any Loveless
Kit Carson Model 4
This is like the battery bunny....Keeps going and going....

Older Case Stag Trapper
Stag handled Randall
A small Dozier, I like the Arkansas Traveler
Small and large Sebenza
A large Busse with machined micarta
A med sized SAK
Spyderco Folder, take your pic
Benchmade, the large and small AFCK
Buck 110
David Yellowhorse Buck 110 and Case Trapper(I know, but I like them)

A nice custom from any one of several top makers that cost so much you would never even think of using it. I esp like D'Holder, and also hope to get a Tony Bose one day.

A Tony Bose
A Howard Hitchmough
A Busse
Any Loveless
A Fowler
A Royer
Something from Corby
many, many others but this list alone would break the bank.

More Randalls.
(I'll probably pick up a Ruana or two in the near future too.)
