Just curious about other people.

Whats the biggest fixed blade that you carry? Where do you carry and how, and post a pic of it.

Cold Steel Trailmaster. I carry it opposite side from a 9mm on a belt when I'm shooting/plinking or hiking. Heavy, but worth it. I also keep that set-up and more in my Jeep any time I drive off road or venture more than 15 miles outside of my house.

This one or one of it's buddies goes along with me on ATV rides, also whenever I have to fight back the undergrowth on our trails. It's a Himalayan Imports 18" Ang Khola.

People are seriously going to phuck with you, as you've seen, on this thread!;)

I carry in right front pocket, left back pocket, and IWB all at once. I like folders with 4" or near 4" blades. I have so many knives I like that I rotate my main carry (RFP) carry often. I always keep a Wave Emerson Commander in my LB pocket and a Benchmade Auto with a lock hidden in my waistband. SAK in pocket. That's my usual set-up.

I carry other stuff like a neck knife or little folder in my FL pocket or RB pocket or both sometimes. Depending on where I'm going and who I'm going to be around and if I bought a lot of cool stuff recently.

Basically, if I walked through a metal dector at an airport most times it would simply explode!:D

If I received several cool new knives in the mail that week I would probably weigh-in a little heavy that week while I was carrying things to try out and show my friends.:D

Largest fixed I carry is a Steve Mullin fighter, 6" blade, 5" handle, D2 and canvas Micarta. Lovely blade, good balance, sharpened false edge clip point, rather lively int he hand, and with a few mods to the micarta (re-shaping to fit my hand personally), its one of the best medium fighters I've had. Carry it on my belt a lot, even urban environs a few times, although I would like to get a kydex concealment sheath made for it for such carries.

I'd like to gwt another Cold Steel Recon Scout for carrying when I go out shooting, hiking, wdoing ranch work. The Mullin is a fighter and not too suited to heavy utility, but the Recon Scout is a great utility tool, capable of handling heavy work, but still lively in the hand enough to be a fighter in an emergency.
Its not super-large, and doesnt weight a lot, is a versatile design with a versatile handle... I really liked the first one I had, need another.

I have three methods of carry:
1) Diagonally across back with hilt toward low right
2) Drop loop from belt on right hip
3) Inside Waist Band on right side

The first method uses a back sheath from Survival Sheath Systems. The later two methods use my Southern Comfort sheath from River City Sheaths. Both are custom-fitted kydex.

All three methods are comfortable, but I tend to favor the first for concealment combined with convenience of access.

This is the biggest fixed blade I carry. It is a heavily used Busse Basic 9.

I have used it for a lot of different things, but here lately I carry it when I go dove hunting. I carry it in a leather sheath. I use it when a dove happens to "divebomb" into thick underbrush or trees after being shot and I have to go retrieve it. Sometimes the trees get in the way... sometimes the brush gets in the way and I don't want to use the 870 for a "bramble parter", so I use the 9 to pry stuff out of the way to get to the bird. Here in Texas, it is illegal to carry any blade (fixed, folder or otherwise) over 5 1/2" in blade length UNLESS YOU ARE HUNTING. So, what the hell?! When I go hunting, I tend to carry a folder and a big fixed blade. If you don't make every effort to retrieve your game animal, you can get into major trouble. I wouldn't want to be charged with "waste of a game animal" would I?

Anyway, I have used the absolute hell out of this thing. It has done things no knife should do. One time I even chopped into a concrete block with it on accident for over 10 minutes (trying to cut down a fencepost), and all it did was dull it a little. This is a big knife that is tough with a capitol "T"!

The cheapie version, nothing thrilling. But it is oh so handy without drawing too much attention to myself. Bear in mind my location. I'm in the suburban megalopolis, no big fixed blades for EDC.

I use fixed blades when in the bush, but don't carry them. Either in my pack or one of the dry-bags in my kayak. Always have a large folder on me usually.

I carry either my Cold Steel Scimitar or Emerson Persian (the latter is my current favorite. I love the shape and appearance of the blade; plus they are good to go for all my normal knife uses.

Sorry about that...here is the pic...:

If I am out camping, I carry a Strider D9 or the Strider MT-L. I carry them on my left side.

For EDC fix blade I carry a Strider Karambit on my right side.

If I get my camera fix, I will post pics.

I'm sick of these dumb questions where everyone just shows-off what they personally own. Instead of "what do you carry, what do you own, what is the best 4" blade............." How about some original thought about new designes, or uses? One example would be an entire forum dedicated to kitchen knives. Honestly where do most of us use knives on a daily basis??? If you have been around here more than a few weeks you know exactly what I'm saying. It's the same regurgitated $hit over and over.

So you wish to commandeer what folks like to talk about?

Matteo, if they bother you, then don't read these threads. No one went out of their way to be offensive to just you, and yet you sail in here hurling mass insults left and right. Real classy man :barf:.

probably cause I was curious as to what else is out there. Cause I'm new to this forum, and thought it a friendly one. Not a silly one were people post in threads they don't like about threads they don't like.

I'll make sure to check "the stupid question meter" if I post anything again.

Angelus, Matteo's response is NOT the norm or acceptable here at BF, please don't let such crap prevent you from posting any future questions. There's a few bad bannanas in every bunch, you just toss them out and keep the good ones. Same goes here.
