If you’re a knife nut like me, your favorites come and go. Some people have their 'go-to’ EDC, some people rotate out their knives every day, and some people have a hard time choosing which to carry out of their collection pool. Before I discuss my favorite, I have to ask:what is your favorite BM knife going into 2016??? Post picks or comment below!

For me, it was a difficult decision. I took a break from purchasing any new knives for over a year (’13-’14) and quit the forum during that time as well (too many enablers lol). I bought my first home during that time and focused my efforts on new home expenses.

During that year, I used my standard BK M4 810 every day and was perfectly content until I logged back in and noticed the 810-1401 a while back.. After using the -1401 for a few months, I became amazed with M390’s edge holding capabilities, along with it’s rust and wear resistance with every day use. The next knife that caught my eye was the 761.. Looked great on paper and once I actually got to handle a new one (fresh from the factory) at my local dealer, I was instantly amazed by the slim profile, F&F, and materials used.

After inspecting all the new knives of 2016, and utilizing my 810 for over a year, I think my final decision for EDC would have to go to the 761. For EDC standards, it’s a larger folder that carries like a smaller knife, and it can’t get much better than M390/Ti. At this point in time, I don’t plan on buying any of the new 2016 BMK's (even the 765, after much thought). I think I’ll pick up another 761 instead.

I am looking forward to seeing the 698. It looks great in the pictures...
That said, I just got a 556-1 which I am very happy with. Technically it was supposed to be a 2016 model, but they released some early, which
made me very happy.

Really hard for me to say at this point. I am liking the new 556-1 and the 698. Picked up a 14716 (HK) because of the value.

Depending how how big the 698 actual fills in the hand, I may opt for it later. I really prefer 3" knives, but I dow own a 940-1 and the 531 because they carry small for thier lengths.

The 913 Stryker is my favorite. I like tip down, I like the size and the scales, I don't mind the assist, I like D2 steel, and most of all I like the blade shape.

The 730 would be a close second because it has a similar blade shape and sculpted scales, and the axis lock action is very smooth. I had this one but sold it because it was combo edge.

The 581 Barrage is another very good one. I like the sculpted semi-polished scales, the blade shape, and M390 steel:

The 890 Torrent is one that I like because it is very classy with its sculpted somewhat polished G10 scales. It is my version of a gentleman's knife:

As usual... The Griptillian (as part of my edc rotation, into 2016).
Although I am not sure about getting any 2016 models, the 710 (just because it was the first model to have Axis lock mechanism) and Stryker looks promising (as for purchase).

The Axis Stryker is, right now, my most carried knife. Specifically, the 909 with the tanto blade. A total oddity for me since I've never been a big fan of tantos until the 909 came on my radar. The way Benchmade did the tanto design in this knife affords it a longer and finer tip than most of the chisel-tip tantos out there. Since I used to carry a Congress slipjoint with sheepsfoot blades, I apparently like the straight edges on the 909. It's turned out to be a pretty good daily utility knife for me. I also have the 908 drop point model but I still go to the tanto the most.

The 710 will always be a favorite although I don't carry it as much as the Stryker. I love the narrow profile and the blade shape. It's a little too much blade for most days so the slightly shorter knives see more use. I'm considering trying the 707 Sequel for the shorter blade but similarity to the 710 design. I'm just concerned about the short grip on the Sequel.

The Gripillian is one of my favorite knives. I'm really looking forward to getting a G10 Grip. The G10 Barrage looks great also and is very tempting. I'll wait until after the "First Production" though, I'm not a fan of having that on the blade. I'll also wait to see what color combos Benchmade puts out, the grey/blue is nice but I'd rather see all black or green/black.

Hard to pick an upcoming favorite but, without handling any, I'd have to say the 698 folder and 119 Sibert fixed blade are the most exciting to me.

Of existing models, the Axis Stryker is a super sweet spot folder and I want the LE big time. For a smaller in-city carry, the 484 Nakamura is a major contender. All that said, the standard 940 was my most carried in 2015 (6 months) and it is an all-time classic and top folder, despite not being anything new.

Basically what I'm saying is: I love all of the knives!

Indeed. I seem to be enjoying my Griptillian the more I carry/use it! Here is a link to a thread which another member have shared. It contains pictures of custom handles for the Griptillian which is made by a member with a user name called Keyman (forgive me if the name is wrong). Well, you can see for your self anyhow. I was impressed by the amount of handles that are made from this guy. Infact, I plan on purchasing one rhat caught my attention soon (as long as he still makes that model). Here is the link: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1035145-CBM-s-Customized-Benchmade-s (copy and paste to your browser if its not direct linked)

By the way, I saw several members who were satisfied with doing business with him. Hopefully I can contact him soon to get some more information etc

gotta go with my 940-1. It is the best apple slicer in the world! I carry it when I need to wear slacks. I love the the sleekness and how lightweight it is.

The 710 is my fave, of any year. the 1401 being the newest version.
But then this came along:
gotta go with my 940-1. It is the best apple slicer in the world! I carry it when I need to wear slacks. I love the the sleekness and how lightweight it is.

and its pretty darn nice and the lightness and aggressiveness of the cutting action has made it compete with the 710.
