I'm just curious what you guys think about this. I recently got a BM 710 and previously used an Adamas (Both in D2).

The steel seems to be superb for a true knife USER.

So what D2 knives do you guys like?

My favourite knife in D2 is a Queen Cutlery Co. #51T Mini Trapper :)

D2 is one of my favorite steels. The 710 is one of my most carried. Had many 275's, great knife, never fielded it. Would love to find a BM 140 in D2 as well as a slip joint. The traditionals have been calling me lately,... "carbon and stag", they whisper.

I too love the 710 in D2, but prefer the KW edition with M390.. I also have a Benchmade mini grip with D2, been fairly happy with it

Brous Mini Division. I have to confess though, it's more about the ergonomics than the steel. I didn't expect to like it because of the rather strange handle shape until I got one in-hand, then I promptly bought it, and then another one. I've hardly carried anything else since. I'm sure more Brous' will follow, probably a Caliber. Another one I like is the Benchmade Bone Collector.

I agree--I think good D-2 is super. I hate that it has such an overblown corrosion rep though. A lot of people miss out on it entirely. Minimal care--the kind most people here provide their knives anyway--and it's trouble-free. One tough steel.

Right now my favorite blade in D-2 is on a HEST 2.0 folder I bought when they came out. It's been used and abused in all kinds of circumstances and locations without a whimper. I've already written about it too much in these forums.

True D-2 may not HOLD that super edge it can achieve and works back to a 'working edge' a bit quicker than some of the newer steels, but that working edge is what makes it so good anyway. I'm not S-slicing tissue paper or shaving my carrots in microns with it but bring on the woodcraft or other tough jobs and it shines.

My favorite with D2 is the ZT 0454. Excluding limited-edition knives, I'd say the Composite Blade Leek. Or if only looking at complete D2 blades, then it would be my D2 Mini-Grip.

D2 has become one of my favorite steels, even after trying out some of the new, high-end steels. My favorite knife utilizing it has to be the Brous VR-71, with the Benchmade 32/51 and aforementioned composite Leek closely following.

710 I carry now that I'm past the shock of spending $100+ for a knife. I'm now trying my hand at stock removal, so maybe my own creation in D2 in the future?

HK 14715 and BM Bone Collector 15020
D2 is a great steel. Keeps a good working edge for a long time.
