I've never owned one, but so far the one I like the most is the Camillus Southwest. I'd buy it right now if I had that much money, but I don't. I also like the Fallkniven Thor very much, and the MMHW Bowie as well, but I don't know as much about that one.

What are your favorites? I'm hoping to get some diversity and maybe expand my shopping list. :D

An original Bill Bagwell Hell's Belle is my favorite "fighter/Bowie", but the production Ontario/Bagwell Hell's Belle isn't too bad, at a small fraction of the price.

Ditto, following two pics of mine:

Without a doubt...the best balanced knife I've held.

I'm not sure about the average street prices, but my Southwest was only about 25% more than what I usually see the Hell's Belle going for.

I have the Bagwell "Gambler model",the smallest in the family.Since I'm a short guy it fits my body build the best.I have a kydex sheath for it from River City Sheaths.A killer combo.

I have seen the OVB Fisk Southwest Bowie for well under $300.00. Check out 1SKS if you are looking for a really good price.

My favorite bowies are the big forged custom ones. I love Bowies with blades over 9 inches long. I would list the makers that make Bowies that I really like, but it would take way to long.

Easy, here is a close up of my Primos bowie. I like them long, lean and forged. Natural handle materials are a must.

I have to second the bagwell votes. I have two bagwell custom hell's belles coming in this June (one lefty, one righty), and I'm VERY excited. Dog-bone handle, iron fittings, with iron studs on the punyo end of the handle, for close-quarter butting.

However, I also REALLY like the ontario hell's belles (I have two of those also). It's not a beater, but it WILL cut (it's cut into my rattan escrima sticks, various cardboard boxes, old magazines, etc.). Once you get the hang of sharpening, they're not hard to sharpen at all. As fighters, though, they're hard to beat. The balance and liveliness are second to none (except of course, the custom hb's).

In a slightly "smaller" knife I really like the Randall No.14 and No.1 (especially with the 8" blade).

Horus, you do those pics yourself? Very nicely done.

I like the SOG Bowie even though my SEAL 2000 is larger than it. I really like the size and shape of the blade.

I'm not sure what 1200.00 euro is in USD but I just sold one of the two I owned last month that was NEW in my collection for 1150.00 USD.

They are a two year wait or more right now. His price when you order one today is unknown. That piece listed is a Natchez Bowie, I sold a Hells Belle fighter for the 1150.00

I would think the Natchez would be less than that. It doesn't have the trapping guards which take more effort to produce.

This bowie is clearly my favorite! It´s perfect in size for a bowie. Not to big or clumsy, yet not to small to decrease the chopping capability. The grip is a little slippery untill it´s rugged up to a more sandpaper like surface. When the grip is wet,it´s even more comfortable. This is my all time favorite bowie.

I have been shopping for a bowie. I have been looking for a traditional style that I can use as a tool rather than a fighter.
I want something with a classic look. Also something in at a reasonable price for a custom knife of good quality. After the reasearch I am seriously looking at George's Bowie's. Now have to deside on which one. http://www.tichbourneknives.com/

Somebody mention bowies? Like Keith, I have a fondness for the big forged customs. I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favorite.

But this Roger Massey bowie is spot on my idea of what a bowie should be:

And this Don Fogg spear point bowie is a real work of art - but as tough as you could want:

Cheers,

Roger

For production:
If you consider this a Bowie then a Marble's 7" Trailmaker (leather handle) would take my vote.

For custom:
Almost any John Fitch Bowie.;)

I also have to go with the hells belle. The balance and feel of this knife is awesome. P.S. horus, what is that small knife pictured at the bottom of your post?
