Hai guize! Tomorrow is my one week anniversary! Seems longer than that.... in six days I've managed to acquire a Busse and two swamprats.

Now, I need a chopper. From your experience... what's your favorite ? Why?

There's so many out there, I don't know what to choose. So, I'll let you guys choose for me. Obviously I'd prefer something I can get my hands on relatively easy. That said, if there was a chopper 5 yrs ago that was king ****. I'll hunt it down.

The Killa Zillas Rule, but the NMFBM is king of the FBM's.
A great all around choice is the CG FBM:thumbup:
I like the FFBM for the saber grind and .310" it is probably the toughest chopper.

Heavy chopper: NMFBM (optimal on 3" dia. and greater)
Light chopper: Basic 11 (optimal on 1/4" dia up to 3" dia.--machetes for under 1/4" dia.)

My favourites in descending order of ability -

Nuclear Test Team Killa Zilla
NMFBM
BWM LE
Basic11
Basic9

Size and weight and how you want to carry the knife makes them all good choices for certain applications ... the best all rounder and good value is probably the Basic 11 ...

I studied law, so I have to say...

... it depends! ;)

If you want to take it with you on hiking trips I'd go for the B11. I've never handled nor heard of another 17 oz knife that develops such a punch when chopping.

If you want to take it occasionally on short to medium hiking trips and mainly use it around the yard I'd recommend the CGFBM - the best looking and most versatile mistress in my eyes.

If you want to use it exclusively around the yard the NMFBM or Killa Zilla are the way to go. But I'd never take any of those with me on walks longer than a mile.

My personal favorite is the CGFBM.
Chops great, not too heavy, does everything you could ever imagine....and it even flexes

Id go B11 as a user and NMFBM as the one I play tough guy in front of the mirror with :p Its so massive, that and Im a wussy.
ResC + 11 Inches of Infi = one helluva good time

It will withstand anything you can throw at it in the chopping/abusive dept. And its priced right :) They are all great knives though. I remember the journey to my first chopper, ahh yes. Thanks B, still got her :D:thumbup:

That one heavy heart- the one that's like .38 thick!!!

Proubly on the heavy side though... :D

The KZII is the best one out there, I believe (short of the MOAB )
A Scrapyard Dogfather is definitely a good option, too. Pretty affordable and really takes a pounding.
