The Shakan is my favorite new release. The ripple pattern and anodization are beautiful. The ergonomics are excellent. My only complaint is that I wish the blade was a little thinner. It's not a big complaint and it's not a major issue. The knife is great in its current form. It would just be so much better and an easy winner for year's best had it been given a thinner blade.

While I don't like the design of the upcoming Charith as much, I love that the listed blade thickness is 0.10" (2.6mm). I'd love to see the blade of every WE folder in the 2.5-3.0mm range.

I can't think of any regular tasks where having greater than 3mm blade thickness in a folding knife benefits me. Tasks where a thicker blade is better are rare enough to be totally outside the realm of my regular EDC. If I'm doing such a task, I'll either have brought a specific blade for it in addition to my EDC folder or I'll stop what I'm doing to go get one.
