I just got my T L Hearn TAC III with blue micarta handle slabs and a polished ats-34 wharncliff blade. I just love it, and can't put it down. The folders are now in the closet. What neck knives do you carry? I know these favorite posts are redundant, but I just love to see what you guys have.

I like my Raker (Ray Kirk) "Lil' Blue" neck knife--small, 52100 steel with burl scales, and kydex sheath with excellent retention.

I've got a bunch (follow the "toys" link for some pics) but the one I keep coming back to is a Fred Perrin La Griffe. It takes a razor edge, doesn't print even through a thin shirt, and would be nearly impossible to dislodge from the hand.

(I have a very STRONG neck!).

Seriously...I haven't found a use for a "neck knife" that a good folder (Cold Steel "Gunsite") doesn't do just as well, if not better.

C4-thats pretty nice...but which end do you lite?

"He who has smelled the smoke is likely to buy more cigars!"

Emerson La Griffe. Best grip ergo's, no printing, vicious little blade design, extremely lightweight. Not as light as the ti version, but close.

How much is the Tom Mayo's Talonite boot knife? What are the specs on the blade?
What is Tom Mayo's website url?

The three that are currently being used in rotation: Neil Blackwood miniHawksbill; Jens Anso naked DamaClaw; Jones Knives tanto neck knife. Can't pick a favorite, they are all great knives!

Right now its a little Meerdink neck knife, although I have another one coming that may very well take its place.

UPDATED and REVISED

Tom, nice Mountain Man's Neck Knife but the blade is still a little short for us HillBillees. I like a Neck Knife with a little more BEEF to it.

Seriously, I have a couple of Doziers that I favor - one being the Razorback sold through Knife Art. Great little blade. The other is a Pro Skinner that I wear around my Neck when out doing chores in the summer (Shorts & no Belt).

Now, if I can just figure out how to get my Geno Denning knives to hang upside I'll have even more choices!!

For carrying, right-side-up, a little Mora laminated blade in a pouch sheath, a la Mors Kochanski's recommendation in Northern Bushcraft.
