Ohhhhh kay. Someone should.

Fortunately, there is the Internet. My guess is that somewhere in the vast expanse of cyberspace there is ceilingfanForum.com and right there right now there is a thread in which someone is aghast to learn that there are people who collect -- of all the things in the world?!? -- knives.

i'm a member in there as well,i wish i can find a knife ceiling fan

I suspect that ceiling fans and knives are two hobbies best left uncombined.

I have a good friend who collects Farmall tractors. I've often said that the good thing about collecting knives it that buying a new one has never necessitated the construction of a new outbuilding. I had to buy a bigger safe finally, but I think the one I've got is gonna keep me for a while.

And my insurance agent really didn't have a whole lot of trouble figuring out how to insure them either.

One thing I've learned in my half a century on this planet. No matter what it is; however bizarre you might think it is, SOMEBODY collects it. And, all the more power to them, too.:)

Me, I collect knives, guns, coins, fancy woods that I rarely use in my knifemaking hobby. And, the list goes on...

I've got the largest slide rule collection that I know of.

Heck, I've got the only slide rule collection that I know of.

I wonder who collects rollie pollies... :O

I have 5 or so, does that count? I used the metal Pickett slide rules in high school and college and have 3 of those. Then I decided I should buy a couple of the old wooden/bamboo models for posterity so I found a few on ebay before they got scarce.
I also have a number of calculators dating from the original TI.

My hobbies-
knives, computers, photography, bicycling, camping/backpacking.

I went through engineering school with a metal Picket, and also had/have a 6" pocket model Picket. Helped a guy in my church move many years ago and we ran across his Post which he gave to me. When I became Metering Services Manager at Alabama Power Co. my retiring predecessor gave me his slide rule and his predcessor's (an old K&E with "patent pending" printed on it.) All of a sudden I found myself with a collection. Big business supply store went out of business and I picked up a couple of circular slide rules from them. Then I walked in a campus bookstore in Auburn, struck up a conversation with the owner and before long we were up in the attic looking at a treasure trove of new in box rules of various sizes, materials, and manufacture. I asked how much and he said $10 each for anything I wanted. (These things were $35 to $50 in the late sixties.) So now I have at least one of every brand I ever knew of, plus several specialized rules. Sometimes see them on tables at gun shows, also.

My biggest slide rule collecting regret is that the owner of the business supply would not sell me the 5' long display/instructional slide rule that hung behind his slide rule counter for years. I thought it would be the perfect office wall hanger for an engineer.

my hobbies and not in particular order

indian artifacts
fishing
hunting
camping
hiking
4 wheeling
this list can go on and on

Mine are as mundane as can be: knives, watches, pens, flashlights. Oh yeah, driftwood too.

Ceiling fans? That's unique. Are all those hooked up and ready to go?
