Your Ideal Tactical Knife?

O.K., here's mine (and it doesn't even exist!). A Ken Onion Speed-Safe liner-lock design with a slightly-less-than 4" (for legal reasons) partially-serrated reverse Tanto blade of either BG-42 or CPM3V, using heavily textured G-10 scales over the recessed (for thinness) 420J2 liners with a deep index finger cut-out in the handle (a la Bob Kasper and Ernie Emerson) and a ridged spine for thumb purchase. And last, but not least, an additional safety similar to the Lake and Walker safety lock) for that extra measure of insurance under extreme conditions.

What do you think? And what's your ideal tactical knife?

Al Mar S.E.R.E. 2000. Perfect just the way it is.

Flick!

If I were to actually carry one of my tactical folders strictly in the "tactical" sense, I'd say my Emerson CQC6.
BTW....is this a new screen name ?

I think this is a very hard question! first I would have to eliminate folders if you are talking optimal Tactical performance. Wow! That narrowed it down to a few dozen!

I guess though, you really meant the best to carry with you everyday... hmmm! Just give me the Large Sebenza on one side, and a Crawford Kasper on the other... Well, I'm set!

BC... For those who fought for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know... Semper Fi

Mine would be a mix of patents. "Speed-safe", with a "Wave", "Axis" lock, and a "Spyderco" Hole just in case.

My ideal knife is the Commander by Emerson knives.
Sharp, comfy and the fastest folder in the world (that i know of)

What more can you wish for??

hmmm... benchmade Stryker with axis lock.
(i've written several letters to benchmade in hopes that they'll make one)

Flick!, do you mean tactical "knife" limited in folders?

I'd love if Himalayan Import supplies OTF khukuri by its "regular" size (15" OAL) or slightly shorter. Don't forget pocket clip on it.
And I dream if my BM975 cuts STRAIGHT...

Did you enjoy today?

Alex_111, I too have been wanting an Axis Stryker! That would be sweet! And change that crappy BT2 coating and use something better... at least Black-T toughness.

Richard, I'm glad you like the AJAK. It is, without question, the best tactical knife ever made.
ajak.jpg

CL-1 (cellulose/lignin alloy, AKA cardboard) material. Dual layer blade to insure extra toughness. PVC covered CL-2 sheath. Undetectable by any metal detector known to man. Able to mold to your body due to the acutely flexible nature of CL-1. And the list price is only $8 (prices increasing due to high demand)! Only two more highly valued collector's AJAK's (and very functional too) will be made! Secure your order today!

All sales help me pay back the loans I made to buy the Edge Pro Apex sharpener.

This knife is perfect for you if you want to buy a knife from the angry canine, but can't afford it.

How about this for a Tactical folder; an Automatic REKAT Sifu. Now that would be a tactical folder.
biggrin.gif

My favorite tacticals would be a Steve Ryan fixed blade or a Kit Carson M16A1 folder.
As for factory knives it would be the Emerson Commander folder, and the Camillus Talon fixed blade.

Great ideas, everyone. I should have mentioned that I was thinking about tactical folders only. I think the one closest to my original idea (and it never even occured to me) is the Benchmade Stryker with an Axis Lock - thanks, alex_111!
smile.gif

I forgot to add something, though - the clip. How about a skeletonized Black-T deep-pocket style with tip-up carry?

Also, although the Axis Lock seems extremely tough, it doesn't fly open like the Speed-Safe. Maybe Easyrider makes a good point about the Rolling Lock, but it, too, doesn't bang open...

Auto SIFU all the way

biggrin.gif
, or how about an Auto Civilian
biggrin.gif
biggrin.gif
, if auto is out of the question(why?plez dont) put on the Emmerson Wave instead, like it much better than Speedsafe. Of course, Changmade is always the best bargain quality tac knife you will ever get

.

The Wave is way better than Speedsafe. It's much faster, and there are no extra spring or anything, just a simple hook

For a folder, I've been carrying an Emerson Commander of late. It really is the fastest deploying folder out there with the wave feature. The Crawford KFF is my favorite as far as handle design and size go. For a fixed blade, my 5" Harsfield Kwaiken.
