So, in order to get a handle on my spending, a little while back I established a knife budget for the remainder of 2011. Worked like a charm... although I'll have to sell my rat-3 to buy a Becker Tweener (mini-Camp) once they're available in order to truly stay under budget :)

That doesn't stop me from wanting more, though. So here's my wishlist, and I'll probably be grabbing a lot of these in a flurry once 2012's budget is in place. It's good to have things to look forward to!

  • Warthog #2 (I want a stock one since I've modded mine)
  • Grass Machete (almost entirely due to Guyon's photos. damn!)
  • Camp Knife (love that recurve shape. will try to mod to add a Toooj handle)
  • Short Heavy Bowie (these look awesome)
  • Large Heavy Bowie (these look awesomex2)
  • Kuhkhuri (dunno about kuhks but I want to round out the Toooj collection!)
  • Becker BK5 (the Gathering feedback has convinced me & Wife would like a good camp food prep knife)
  • Becker BK7 (almost my first Becker but the BK2 made more sense)
  • Becker BK9 (who doesn't want a nine inch black bowie knife?)
  • Becker BK11 #2 (same reason as the Warthog)
  • Dog's head 1-blade trapper (chestnut)

I'd be real interested in seeing what other stuff people are looking to pick up. Everyone has different tastes and KA-BAR offers a pretty diverse catalog. Maybe I'll even get turned on to something I didn't know about.
 
my wishlist would be a bk 11, bk 14, bk 2, small dozier folder, ka bar mk1, im hoping to pick up a bk 11 before the end of the year, the rest will be in the 2012 want list. Also the sheaths moose did a review on looks nice, ill pick one up eventualy
 
Great idea BRL:

Here is what has been on my mind lately:
  • Cutlass Machete (who doesn't want an epic chopper)
  • Grass Machete (victim of guyons thread as well.. love the silencing baffles :D)
  • Large Heavy Bowie (got a BK9 on order, but would really love to compare them. The LHB just looks so sweet...)
  • MK1 Leather
  • Becker Tweener (camp or clip... can't decide yet)




Thats about it for now, although I hope to eventually round out my Becker collection. The BK5 will come whenever I get a grill (know its not limited to that, but I think that would be what I use it for most personally), and I think the tweeners will stave off my desire for a BK11/14.

I'm thinking my woods combo will end up being the camptweener and the BK9. We'll see though...

Ohh, nice one, I forgot about the potbelly. It seems like an amazing knife.
 
My wish list, and most likely it'll all be in my possession by the end of the year:

- Phat Bob folder (is this made in NY?)
- Little Finn - will be my son's first hunting knife and should be way better than anything I had as a kid!
- BK2
- BK7

Then, the sometime down the road list:
- Fin Folder DP
- Kukri machete (not sure why, but it looks awesome)
- Becker Tactool

Union Razor Sunfish aka Elephant's Toenail. Go big, or go home, ladies.

That's pretty close to actual size too. I'm not kiddin'.

4 1/4" closed, nearly 7 1/4" open. Get some of that.

I have the large fillet and now want the smaller version.
I also gots to get one of those leather handled Mark I's some time.
 
Here is my list:

Leather handled Fighting Utility knife (probably shorty)
Kraton handled Fighting Utility knife (probably shorty)
Mark I (kraton or leather either is good)
Machetes including the Grass Machete
BK5

- Big Brother in leather (most retailers will not sell to CA, unfortunately)
- Big Brother in kraton (2 is 1!)
- BK-5 (traded mine for another 9, but the vids of the gathering have me thinking maybe I should give it another chance)
- another 7 and 9
- BK-3

The folders look interesting, but I'm not quite sold on them yet.
 
Well, I went to buy the Little Finn today for my son...and it's little! I actually passed on it and will try to check out the Hunter and Skinner models for his first hunting knife, instead.
