Friends, here's a chance to write about and or picture your latest Traditional. Factory or Custom, good or bad! Why not?

Today Mr Postman (yes he is a he) dropped off one of those enticing USPS envelopes at my place. Sorry no photos but as ever I live without cameras:eek:

CASE Texas Jack 62032 in Olive Green scales ss. This is a new release and the knife was made 12th July, a Monday but no mondaymorningitis knife here. It's EXCELLENT in fit&finish. No hint of gaps, no wobble,no raised springs on open or closed, very good snap indeed and centred blades. It's better made than my cv Amber Bone and that is well done. The bolsters are pinched and grooved, kind of rat-tail and the bone is wonderful. It's a rich colour of light and dark olive shades, no way garish and both sides completely matched. Do take a look at he other patterns in this recently released line, more than worthwhile. Well done CASE and their workers:thumbup:

I hope your latest knife pleases you as much, I look forward to your say-so.

I haven't bought a slipjoint since I picked this up.

Have I finally found the one?

I got this puukko a couple of months ago. It's been put to work in the kitchen, where it has performed well considering its relatively thick blade.

I guess now I'm going to have to get one of those. Actually, because of the amber bone one I just purchased, I have been thinking of ordering that one in SS for a comparison.

I never owned a jack knife in this size before, and I have just fallen in love with the amber bone one below.

:D You know if I buy one, I have to blame it on somebody. Might as well be you I guess. :D

Nevermind the peanut here. I got it the same day, but I didn't buy it, Vince (VCM3) let me win it in his give away. Thanks again Vince. I like it a lot too. I've been carrying it too.

Stag on that Ohta is truly something, been thinking about buying one myself.

As for taking the blame Ed, no worries:D

Very nice stuff here. That stag is amazing and the bone on the peanut is really great too.
I was tempted to enter Vince's giveaway on that knife.

Here's my latest - picked it up at a local sporting goods store while on vacation last week. Buck 505. It's a little one, at just over 2 3/4" closed, but makes a nice "two finger" knife. It's a NIB from 2006, and was just sittin' almost buried under a bunch of other knives (none of which appealed to me) in that glass case - kinda dusty, and neglected, and forgotten about. I already have its bigger brother, the 55, and its daddy, the 110 ..... so I decided to adopt this little fella and bring him home to be with the rest of his family. ;)

Thanks for the heads up on that olive green bone Case, willgoy - I've been eyeballing a couple of them online and thought they looked pretty darn nice, but ya never know. Good to hear the F&F is excellent, too! Congrats!

Nice to get a winner like that Old Timer:thumbup:

Must be return karma, that was a really decent knife you gave away recently Steve.

Here's mine, acquired 2 days ago and carried since then:

I've gotten a few new ones in the last 2 weeks, I bought a Case Mini trapper from 1985 (MINI TRAPPER) etched on the blade. I removed it with Bar Keepers friend!! I hate blade etching. Then I got a custom TA Davison, blk paper Micarta slippie, awesome F&F razor sharpe, then I got another custom Sod Buster from Keith Johnson, Ivory jigged paper Micarta, it's just flat out Great. I love the two Soddies I've gotten from him!! And last, I bought a 1977
Gunstock Jack, brown bone, carbon blades with a perfect dark, rich patina on the blades, real lucky finding this one it's in excellent condition, both blades still 100%. All these knives are great!!

The 108OT is a great little worker.
Same size as a Peanut, but with the extra versatility that comes with a third blade.
I love mine.

I know what you mean voltron. Absolutely no blade play, snappy and its got a wicked edge.

Mail-lady brought me a Schrade 293 in really nice shape and a Kinfolks 368 hunter with some nice stacked leather today.:-)

Being honest on the latest....a prototype Buck 301 single blade. To be offered in new catalog as the model 302. Will come in the standard four scale types. This is the Dymondwood. I like it for its single layer scale and excellent polish, the rivets barely stick up above the scale. 300

It's been a little while since I got a new slippie, but I believe the last one I picked up, a few months ago, was a Case slimline trapper in CV with yeller handles.

Have one of the Case stag/CV offerings on order - they said September delivery!
