That's right (pun intended), lefty-righty matchup time! Fellow ambidextrous CRK fans, enjoy!
So here's my lefty and righty matched pairs, 5 in all
Oh, now I suppose you want me to turn them over and show you what they are...........
First up is a pair of Classics. They aren't the same size, but they got included because they're a match in other ways. They're both unused BG-42's
Next up is a pair of Honduran rosewood Mnandis. These were a limited run that CRK did for BHQ a while back, I snagged 2 off the Exchange. Honduran Rosewood varies so much from one piece to the next that these 2 have very different personalities.
Here I have a pair of old nail nick style Walnut Mnandis. The righty has some of the most striking grain I've seen on a Walnut, the lefty is among the plainest I've seen. But it's also the only lefty Walnut I've seen, so I snagged it to complete the pair.
Large Lignum Vitae Sebs. This time I got the lefty first, and it's a beauty. And again, I grabbed a matching righty when I saw one hit the Exchange. It helped that it came in a package deal with a UG that still makes my heart sing. But this time, I hit the jackpot! The grain on this one is the most amazing LV grain I've seen. One thing you'll see is that one is a classic from 2006, the other is a very recent 'Idaho-Made' 21. The only pair in the thread that's an age mismatch, not that it bothers me a bit.
No collection of mine could be complete without some graphics.
Probably my fave CGG ever is the pretty Trapeze Regular Large, and I managed to score a pair of these a couple years apart. I got the lefty first, and you'll notice a couple things there. It's a double lug, and it's clip is long missing. As the marks on the blade will tell the tale, this one has been a user. Give this one a salute, it served me in the sand. These have the older solid head screws.
Here's a closer look at the back of the Mnandis, you get to see the evolution. The old nail nick and older clip on the Walnuts, the new nail nick and clip on the Hondurans. You can also see the Chris Reeve doesn't skimp on the inlay for the back, even though it's partially covered.
And once again, the righty-lefty family pic!
