Ok so we always hear about benchmade and striders and sebenzas being hard use. Well what slipjoints of yours would you consider your most hard core? For me it is my Case Copperhead. It has a beast of a snap, no blade play, half stops. It just feels super sturdy and could probably take one heck of a beating. That is just me though. What one is it for you guys?

Victorinox alox solo.

Built like a tank, nothing on it to come loose, its an all metal shadow pattern. Plus I gave one to brother in law Roger years ago that I had made an easy opener out of. Roger still is usiing it. If Roger can't destroy it, it must be rugged. Usually Roger can destroy anything.

I don't think about pocket knives when I think about a "hard use" cutting tool. Not at all. A "hard use" cutting tool would be a saw, or an axe, or a chisel, or a power tool.

Honestly, I never understood why someone would insist on deliberately not using the appropriate tool for the job.

Case Moose in Black G10 is the one that sees the hardest use most recently. GEC Big Jack is a close second.

This one feels the sturdiest.

It's all theoretical though. Apart from being stuck on a tropical island I don't really see myself putting a slipjoint to hard-use. A slipjoint is more of precision instrument and is best used with the "work smarter, not harder" philosophy in mind.

My heaviest duty built is probably my Case/Bose collaboration Dogleg Jack. However, my go to for "dirty" work is probably my P.C. Randall linerless shadow (That Bos HTed A-2 Wharncliffe blade begs to be used).

Case Moose in ebony (just got it... WHAT A TANK) and Vic Farmer.
Two I think I could stake my life on if it came to that.

If I had to pick one for hard use, more than the average everyday use, I would have to go with my Cold Steel 2 Blade Hunter. Carbon V blades sharpen easily and stay sharp for long chores, synthetic scales are worry free.

Queen canoe and my vic soldier.I also don't use my slippies for hard use, maybe medium or as a scraper. any hard abuse goes on my Wave.

For me it is the Victorinox Soldier. I took mine with me on a lot of camping trips and still carry it as my EDC folding knife, but I don't use it very hard actually, I've got fixed knives for that.

CASE large cv Stockman in Amber Bone responds to a lot of hard gardening tasks(no beater stuff though got an RR for that...)

Soddie JR. 40+ years and still going strong. No wobble and great W&T. It went though a few of those teenage abusive years also and came out unscathed (for the most part.) ;).

Yeah, I heard Gus, Elliott and Kerry were pretty tough in their youth. :D

I'm the oldest so I get to ride in the middle.

Kerry, as usual, had a rash on his neck and an earache...He always had to carry ointment...

...And if Gus would have stopped chain smoking cigars when he was 7, he'd have been over 5' tall.

Me, I was just trying to hold it in until the next gas station so nobody could tell I really had to go...

:p

Good one, Luciano!

Thanks Elliott! It seemed like something you would do. ;)

As tough as y'all were in your youth, I heard y'all were quite the hit with the ladies though.

'Mano, we were so tough that we wore tweed underwear!!! ;)

My hard use slippie is a Buck 301. I replaced the black plastic with stag sanded smooth. Here is an old pic while I was working on it.
