I have a problem using my "good" knives for so called mundane tasks. I tend to rely on utility knives with replaceable blades more often that I'd like to admit. I have used my Mora to trim cured spray foam insulation because I needed the blade length, and it was a pleasure to use, but if I had used one of my Spyderco Militarys and hit a nail or scraped concrete, I'd be pissed.
Let's see, I always have my FRN PE Jester with me, so that handles everyday package opening, fingernail cleaning, etc. I have a bolo machete in a scabbord mounting on the garden tractor for heavy outdoor yard work. Everything else but food gets cut with one of the old Stanely retractable blade utility knives (I have several) or one of the ubiquitous folding versions,(mine's a Husky brand from Home Cheapo) and there is always a sharp fresh blade handy, even if it's just the flip side. And then there's always the BRK Native.
That's why my Sebenza's and Spydies get carried but not used. Sad really...I have to think about this.
