I've been thinking about switching my multitool EDC from the LM Wave to the SOG TiNi PowerLock. I'd like to know if any of you out there carry one of these as your multitool EDC, and what you think of it. (Functionality, dependability, toughness, etc..)

Your opinions/comments are appreciated. Thanks. :D

I have had my non-Tini powerlock for a bit over a year and find it quite useful. The woodsaw is comparable to an SAK woodsaw. I've had a Paratool for 5 years and that is good also. Powerlock is much larger, and heavier than Paratool. Powerlock is in my motorcycle tool kit when not in my truck. Paratool is on belt much of time at work, outside etc. I have found both very helpfull and usefull.

Quality tools and SOG has very good customer service. You can add and remove tools also. Very versatile.

Go fot it, but don't spend extra for fancy finish. I hose it off and use a little wd40 and everything is fine.

good luck

The compound leverage system works amazingly well. It's quite a bit larger than the wave but I think the grip and power of the SOG will compensate that.

TiNi is extremely corrosion resistant and tough. This is one tough tool...I don't think you can do too much wrong with this one.

I have found that I use my old beat-up Supertool more than my Wave. The Wave, although a good tool, seems a little fragile at times for certain jobs. I know that the TiNi Powerlock is a little more expensive, but I figure that with the TiNi coating it won't get scratched up as bad as my old Supertool(that one is scratched up pretty bad).

I haven't seen a Powerlock up close, but I imagine that it would be about the same size as the Supertool(?). If they are more or less the same size, it wouldn't be a hindrance on my belt because of the weight. ;)

Anyways, thanks for the replies so far. Hopefully, they'll keep on coming. :D

I have managed to find a SOG dealer, as well as a TiNi Powerlock for only $75, here in town!!!! This SOG seems to be built so tough, I don't think that I will EVER need to buy another multitool again.:D :D

My only problem with it is...I haven't told the wife yet. ;)
