So I just ordered this for my Dad who is an avid hunter, and dresses most of his take in the feild. It seems to be of the highest quailty for the price. Only $150.usd.
With that said heres the stats: 6 in. AUS 8A Steel Blade, 5 in. handle and a black leather sheath, fitted with a brush proof retaining strap. Overall length 11 in.
And the picture can be found here: http://www.discountknivesonline.com/images/18H.jpg

So do you own this knife? Have you used or seen this knife? Will my Dad like it?

I've owned the older version that didn't have the beveled "chopping" spine, and I can say that the CS Outdoorsman is an EXCELLENT knife. If your dad doesn't like it, send it to me, and I'll adopt you as my son.:D.

LOL...Will do glockman, so iam sure dad will enjoy this alot. He better it is all he is getting from me for his birthday.

I too own the early version, It has done a good job of skinning/ butchering deer and a few hogs. I'm sure he will like the knife..

I think the best hunting knives for under $150 right now would be one of the Swamp Rat knives or Cabela's Buck Vanguard in S30V.

The Buck is a classic design. How about the Cold Steel Master Hunter in Carbon V?

I bet he'll be happy with the performance of the Outdoorsman, though.

Dozier Pro Guide...I have one of those in Desert Ironwood.
The knife is an almost unbelievable cutter.
At $150.00, the person who scored that knife is one very fortunate individual indeed.

I've always admired the efficient/utilitarian look of the CS Outdoorsman. I'm thinking your Dad will be quite happy with it.

That is one of Cold Steel's all time finest knives. I'm confident your father will enjoy that fine knife.
