well. im settling on my new condo on tuesday and black friday is coming up so my life is almost officially not my own in a few days.

so today i am taking it upon myself to do nothing but things for me. i woke up, made myself breakfast, got a massage and now im going to marathon star wars episodes IV, V, and VI on dvd while tending to my collection of kershaws (cleaning, sharpening, maintenance, etc.) then i will put on a collection of nice tunes and practice drums until i can't physically move my limbs.

generally my perfect day off would also include car care, but its freezing right now and im trying not to get sick.

soooo, what i'd like to hear from the group is: what does your perfect day off consist of? if you only had one day off in the next 3 months what would you do? (PLEASE keep responses appropriate, this is a family friendly forum)

#1 - Wake up, check the forums, email, news - drink some tea or coffee
#2 - Take about $1000 and go to the local knife and guns shops and buy something else I dont REALLY need
#3 - Avoid any house work like the plague
#4 - Kickbox to crack a good sweat and relieve stress, and maybe squeeze in some range time if possible
#5 - Go to a nice restaurant, have dinner with the wife
#6 - Watch a UFC PPV event, play with new toys mentioned above, keeping live rounds in the safe while I drink a sniff of Booker
#7 - not family appropriate, but deserves honorable mention :D

Let's see...

~ Wake up about 10:30 AM.
~ Tell Gisele Bundchen she should really get going and make sure Tom Brady's sticking to his rehab schedule.
~ Pick up supplies such as beer and a pizza.
~ Spend the afternoon watching some F1 and 500 GP racing from the mid 80s to mid 90s.
~ Pretend I am as cool as Patrick McGoohan in The Prisoner.
~ Receive a call from Todd Begg where he says "Is there anything I can make for you?" :D
~ Have dinner at nice Italian restaurant.
~ Late night viewing marathon of The Shield and/or Homicide: Life on the Street.
~ Lay in bed flipping my Groove, even though it annoys Jennifer Love Hewitt. ;)

I think that covers it.

nice. and +1 on said models and the shield. hard to believe only one episode left.

quick update on the day off. one film down. one wicked 15/20 degree convex edge on my black ram with ebony scales. now for a tear down on my groove and a polish and militec job :). thank maybe tackle the convex situation on my 121 if im feeling masochistic :D

I remember doing the convex job on my Outcast. All 10 nights of it.

I need power tools.

yikes!

hmm. out of curiosity i decided to lay all my knives out, and im missing two. a baby boa and an xxxx JYD I. ARGH!

UPDATE: found the baby boa, behind my alarm clock :-/. though i havent seen my JYD I since my last business trip. i checked bags, i wonder if there is a TSA somewhere with my little dog.

For a small fee, I could arrange the return of your little dog! :D Not that I'm saying that I have it or anything...

lol. its okay. it was a factory second that was given to me once upon a time. for now ill wait to do anything until my ripcord comes :) soooo on the subject of the ripcord (see what i did there) and for that matter the zt121, has anybody used tek-loks to carry these knives horizontally? im thinking i might just do that if it is feasible.

day off eh?

1. get up when i darn well feel like it. *around 1pm*
2. watch football all day, namely old Ohio State games from the 10 year war
3. play with my Kershaws. maybe even sharpen them well.
4. eat whatever i darn well please
5. chat on the forums, get into good discussions about knives.
6. go back to bed

Perfect day?

My standards are low now. How about, food for rthe dog & me.
Being able to get around and do chores
maybe even get a call from my son.

That's better than about 29 of 30 days for me this last year. Hopefully 5 more surgerys and I'll be done with that part. Probably gonna need one more on my right shoulder . It's not healing properly.

Oh yeah, Did I mention having the ex leave me alone. That's always good!

Brother, That's one thing I do. I always hang in. Something better always turns up eventually. You just have to endure. As long as you're alive, there's hope.

I don't really know anybody that's had it all easy anyway. I have known a few dealt much worse trials. always keep perspective of the big picture.
