I was wondering what you guys prefer for lock thickness? It can be either frame or liner lock. I suppose lock back would work too, but I don't know how much they vary. I like at least .125 inch for my frame locks. For liner locks, i'm not sure but I see alot around .80 and larger. What do you like?

Thickness does not matter as much as materials and how good the design is.

As thick as possible I guess, but it really doesn't matter that much to me as long as the design is well executed.

I have a liner lock inbound to me with .095 inch titanium liner lock thickness.

OP: I think you meant .080 inch thick, not .8. ;)...that'd be one beefy liner lock 4/5s of an inch thick. Goodness gracious, you'd have to have Hulk sized hands for that folder.

I like .080" and above, though if the design is good and the knife smaller, then thinner might be ok. I currently rotate between a couple for edc, one for work and one for play. Both are liner locks and both have .100" thick ti locks. I am also getting a custom lockback folder that has .100" titanium liners.:)

I would prefer that liner locks not exist. Any lock bar should be at least as thick as the blade.
In an ideal world.

Most locks on balisongs are about 1/5" thick. Stronger than the blade itself.
