I don't really know if this is discussed much but I find it pretty important nowadays when buying knives - blade thickness.
Blade thickness came to mind today at lunch when my partner and I were both eating burritos (bare with me here).. Long story short, I used my 530 to cut mine in half, and he used his tanto full size grip. He was amazed at how easily the 530 "sliced" through the burrito, while his took a little more effort (due to blade geometry, his knife being duller, and different blade "thicknesses").. Anyway, it got me thinking..
I used to like thicker blades, and remember even dissing thinner ones for lack of strength.. But for EDC purposes, thin is definitely in.. I don't plan on chopping down tree branches w/ my folder anyway lol
How many of you prefer thin over thick? What is your preference? And/or experience w/ both?
For me, I definitely prefer the 530's thickness - 0.090", lightsaber sharp
It took ZERO effort to slice through. I'll post thickness comparison picks when I get home.
