How do you guys research your knife purchases? Personally I think if I really need the knife(which I always do), then I'll come on the forums and ask if it's even worth it. After that I'll go on YouTube and watch some reviews. Then comes the fun part. Finding the best price. What do you guys do?

Read reviews, find comparison pics with knives I already own or have handled extensively, watch vids, scope out the best price, then stare daggers at my mail man until he brings me my shiny new knife. Repeat.

I have driven myself crazy tracking my package online, watching it bounce from
state to state and then hating my mailman for delivering boxes last.

Haha I also know that feeling. But there's nothin better than seeing that box sitting in the mailbox. I always get goosebumps.

I research all the time... every knife I buy... and many, many, that I don't buy and have absolutely no interest in buying.

The research process takes a lot of time, but like most folks here. I don't have a local dealer to buy from where I can inspect things in person.

I find it best not to be in too much of a hurry for getting new knives and stuff. Because impulse buys usually lead to buyer's remorse/regret.

They're not cars, or houses. When I see pictures of one I think I might like, I order one. When I get it, I try it out. It either earns a place in my pocket on its merits, or a place in my box of learning experiences.

look at pics, read about it on the forums, watch some you tube videos on it, and compare the reviews to see if it's worth it. If it is worth the trip then I do a BladeHQ run and look at it in person, buy and repeat.

Look thru the which knife are you carrying today thread, find one I like, look at comparison pics. Then I buy any knives I don't have in the comparison pics to get a better idea of how the knife I'm interested in measures up. If I like everything I see then and only then will I place my order.

then I'll come on the forums and ask if it's even worth it.:

I definitely do NOT ask on the forum! I read other's opinions on the forum and find reviews of that specific knife. Often when a person asks about a specific knife, suggestions of other knives come pouring in.

Find user reviews the good the bad and the ugly then pictures, video, purchase in that order...Wash rinse repeat.

see someone mention it, read other responses, watch youtube vids, check prices, wait, strike. I don't ever ask if I should get something, I already know.

Seems like most people trade in or sell most knives they only spent a mere year contemplating purchase of lol, unless bought as investment.

I can honestly say that it has been a long time since I bought a knife because I "NEEDED" a knife. Most of my purchases now are impulsive knee jerk reactions. The last knife a gave serious thought to was my Manix 2...consiquently it has been my edc for over a year. My most recent knife purchase was a 5.11 folder I bought while I was checking out at my local tactical distributor. I liked the blade shape/size and the price was right, so I figured why not.
