I'm not sure which one is my sharpest.
The most consistently sharp out of the box, I think, has been my Rough Rider/Rough Ryder.

My sharpest fixed blade would have to be my Mora Number 1.

Are we looking for "out of the box," or after we worked on 'em? Well, how about both!

Sharpest out of the box was my M390 lionSTEEL CK Bolus drop point in ram's horn.

I've got several GECs in 1095 that after sharpening and stropping will just roll the hair off my arm. This old Eureka is one of them.

The sharpest knives I've ever had, out of the box (OOB ?) were my two Otter Messer anchor knives.
Look up "scary sharp" in the dictionary... there they are. Even though that is an over-used term, it definitely applied to these knives.
A close second would be my Moki fish owl...
I can't seem to find pics of them at the moment....

The Boker trapper I picked up this weekend easily shaved hair off my arm with both blades out of the box. I was surprised, as I've never had an American made slipjoint come from the manufacturer even close to that sharp.

As to which slipjoint gets the sharpest for me, my XX era case 6318 gets stupid sharp very easily. It's far and away my sharpest knife.

I've never called anything "scary sharp". These are.

Gary,
Once again I feel the need to come to your rescue. ⛑️
You should not have to live in the constant overwhelming fear you are experiencing from those horrendously "scary sharp" implements. 😨 If you don't have my address please PM immediately!
Don't hesitate... it's for your own good my friend, -James

LOL! I knew someone would come to my rescue! ;)

As delivered, my sharpest non custom has been a Buck, several.

These were all sticky sharp...typically I get a new knife and will touch up the edge to my preferences. My last 8 Bucks (another 110 not shown) have all been extremely sharp.

I've had knives worth $600 plus show up with edges that would not shave, and need an immediate resharpening..

I'm always impressed when an edge comes on a production knife that gives me the "that is sharp" butterflies in my stomach when I feel it.

Now, I've had customs feel like that, but many productions of higher dollar value not..

These two from Jerry Halfrich are quantum leaps ahead of the next sharpest knives I own, either out of the box or by my own hand.
I've never called anything "scary sharp". These are.

Thanks, Gary. Yep it's a Paul Long sheath that came with the knife. I've ordered a few others from him over the years also. Really nice stuff. As is your leather work!
