Hello,
I'm rather new to knives and currently setting up different "systems". By system I mean the combination of tools you carry for different situations. I'm waiting for some things to arrive and there are always variations and improvisation, but here's my general plan/what I carry most often.
My geographical profile is village in remote forest area. Vast, dense forests all around which I can reach in a matter of minutes.
General EDC around home
Leatherman Skeletool CX and often also an ESEE Izula
EDC at work/out and about
Victorinox Pioneer
EDC when out walking, casual excursions
Victorinox One hand opened Forester
EDC when hiking and camping
Fällkniven F1 and Victorinox Pioneer and if I plan to work with wood a Bacho Laplander folding saw and a Gränsfors small forest axe
EDC when traveling
Victorinox Pioneer in pocket and a Victorinox Spirit X in rucksack. Maybe also the Izula.
Something like that would be the general outlines for my different systems. Things do of course shift now and then, but this is the base plan. The different systems are often accompanied with a Nitecore D10 SP flashlight and a DC4 sharpening stone.
What's your thoughts? Do you organise your different set ups as systems as well? What do they look like? As you can see I incorporate a lot of multi tools and use no big blades anywhere.
