I saw anoter Case XX modern folder (liner lock, synthetic handle, thumb stud) at the hardware store the other day and I was wondering what people thought of there more modern style knives. Anyone carried one of there pocket clip knives or liner locks? If figure there G10 is as good as anyone else's, but if you have something to add about their g10 and carbon fiber handles please do.
Thanks

I can't say I'm a fan. Case should stick to what they're great at: making beautiful Traditional designs.

That's just my opinion.

The top model the Case Slimlock looks like it could be an excellent cross between a modern and traditional Gentleman's Folder.
They are pricey and I am not sure they are readily available or even discontinued. I tried shopping online a little while back and did not fin any.

They are OK. I have seen and handled the top two. Neither floated my boat. They are also a little too expensive for what you get and the top one was a little small for what I generally use.

I hate to say this but I really like the look of the Orange County Choppers knife, first time I've seen of it, the others aren't too bad but they look like someone wasn't paying attention to the design.

Thanks for the comments. I was hoping there would be some more member that owned some of these. I had never seen the model with the aluminum handle before until I started searching for pics. I can't find any information on it either.
I really like the slimlock design, but they are pretty expensive. The updated Trappers look okay, but I would want to handle one to see if the thumb stud was worth the extra money first.

I've had a slimlock for over 5 years. I like BG42 but don't think Case has the best heat treat I've ever had. It's ok, and I like it better than their standard stainless but I've had better heat treats in Spyderco, Buck, and ? Perhaps it's just the bang for the buck thing. I don't like the knife design or quality for the price but it's not as bad as maybe I've made it seem. It's competent but not my thing. It does take a nice edge because of the blade

Interesting, I didn't realize the slimlock used a different steel. If the knife wasn't to your taste it definitely wouldn't seem like a good value. It may just not be that great a knife though. I haven't owned one, so I'm certainly not going to argue for or against it. Just by looks though, I really like the design.
I was thinking though, the Case xx Hunter probably works a lot better with the thumb stud and pocket clip (than the Trapper) since it has the wider handle and blade.
