this may be a stupid question.
if so,please forgive my ignorance.

i am sure you are all familiar with those crappy cd you get
in the mail asking you to try a certain internet provider for free
100 hours,etc.
well,i was trashing some stuff last night and ran across one of these
and had an idea.

could it be used as a liner on a folder,or fixed blade as far as that goes?
you know, use it under the bone, wood, etc. as a liner?
i have some tortoise that is pretty much transparent and wanted to put
it on a folder i have.
to use it i will have to put something between it and the steel or the screws
would show thru.
would this work as a liner under the tortoise?
it sure would look good if it could be used.
just a stupid question i guess.but if i can cut cost for something that will
go in my collection then it sure would be to my advantage.

thanks for all replies whether there good, useful,or just plain want to giggle
at someones ignorance.
go ahead,it's fine with me.:D

The material is a multi-layered polycarbonate sandwich, with thin films of various materials (typically dyes or metals--especially aluminum--depending on the layer and the disc type) as the "filling".

I'd imagine your biggest problem would be cutting it without having it delaminate in an uncontrolled fashion.

well b,i gave it a test cut and it really suprised me after what you said.
i actually thought that it may be difficult to cut, sorta like plexiglas.
this stuff cut like butter on my old worn out band saw.
so i am happy so far with results.
now it's time to draw me off a pattern.

next question.
has anyone ever used the gorilla glue to put knives together?
or to put scales on?
i wonder how it will look under that tortoise?
i mean,it gotta look better than screws showing.

that stuff turns sorta tan after it starts to harden.
i may not have even needed the cd if i use gorilla glue.

not trying to be cheap, just curious.
plus i have this, and don't have any of the stuff most
people use to glue theres.
