Your Thoughts On Stainless Friction Folders?

depending on how much more they would cost that the O1 models, there may not be much of a market.
OTOH, .110x1" D2 isn't that expensive and would make glorious blades at a 60-62 RC

I am not a big friction folder guy, but for the guys that are it would be nice if you had that option.

I don't know, friction folders are a traditional pattern so those that are really into them might prefer carbon steel, then again the collector or someone that actually uses one might want SS.
It's a crap shoot, but I say make one & see if there's any interest.
Give it some modern scales to go with the modern steel.
One of the fancy carbon fiber materials, titanium or Kirinite would be cool IMO.

I think I`m going to forget this idea. After grinding 4 SS blades this morning, I can honestly say that I really dislike working with stainless. The 3/32" thick steel has such deep pock marks in it that it took 4 belts, at $7 each, to grind them out on the flat sander. It`s starting to look like I`m going to make less money on stainless knives than on O1! Hopefully this is just a fluke, the 1/8" was not as bad.

Its an old fashioned design. I think the blade steel should behave in an old fashioned manner, meaning stains

This is more eloquent than my post. However, I thought I saw some pretty snazzy futuristic gent's-type frictions made w stainless, as well as turbo-modern handle scale material. Sort of converted from the old fashioned to the hyper modern

it may be worth the 50% markup for surface ground stainless for the time savings - at that price, it may even be cheaper than paying for the belts used to clean off the decarb layer.
