Thanks to all the great advice and FAQs here I've largely settled on the Benchmade 770 (carbon fiber?) or 773.

What do you guiys think of these 2 models?

Anything notably good or bad about them?

I really like what I've seen of the Axis lock mechanism.

Dealer recommendations?

Thanks very much guys and have a good week!

Christopher

I've got the 773 and think it is a great gents knife (mostly suit and tie/business casual). Out of the office I'd recommend something a little more stout. I buy locally or from Knife Outlet on the net.

I have a 770, a pre-production model with the CF scales and I cantell you that it is a very classy dress knife that would handle all but the toughest job. Remember that he CF version, at least, has full steel liners. All edges are very nicely angled and almost all of the metal but the blade, itself, is file worked, even the pivot pin and the little knobs to work the Axis Lock and the blade-openning pin. The only limitation that I can see to the knife is that the clip is not ambidextrous, it is definitely a right-hander only type knife.

Recently purchased a CF 770 for "gent's carry" times when I cant carry my SNG or Sebenza and am really pleased with it. Visually fun to admire while sitting at stuffy "gent's" functions. Excellent build quality with nice ergonomics.Try one.My $.02 worth.

My 770BC1 is a really nice looking knife, good gents carry, but even for that, it is really too small for my hands. I end up carrying my BM94BT or Protech TR-1 for formal wear carry.
