Your thoughts on the Lowe's Kobalt 18-in-1 Set , please ?

Even if you open it lowes will take it back. Unless you damage it they take pretty much anything back. So even if you don't like it, go ahead and return it.
 
In my experience, they work well until you have to unscrew a stubborn screw. I would recommend returning it and getting some quality, hardened steel drivers. Wiha is my favorite.

With frustration of the first hopelessly stripped screw you will regret trying to save a few dollars on the drivers.
 
I searched for the Wihi , but I'm not certain of the best one to buy. Which do you suggest?

And the Home Depot set sucks.
 
I would get this set:
Wiha 26790 Torx Screwdriver Set, 6 Piece

I have the fat handled ones and they are too bulky.
The other thing I forgot about my old kobalt set, the bit holder became loose over time and the bits would just fall out. Didn't get the wiha set in that style for this reason, though they likely don't have that issue.

If you want a Wiha set get the 36291 torx set it has T6 through T10 and a T15. Everything that you'll ever need for folding knives that have torx screws.
 
If we're going to talk about spending a fortune on precision drivers, I like the Wera kraftform series personally. I seem to be able to get a bit more torque out of them than my Kleins.
 
I was a staunch supporter of the HD Husky set (Bought 2) till I got a Wiha set.. These blew the Husky set to the moon.. Better fit and quality.. Got the 10 bit set that goes from T-5 to T-30.. 79242 in their catalog.. John

I just picked up the wiha 75996 set. Bought direct from wiha and it is great. Both standard and phillips screwdriver,
inch and mm hex and 2-15 torx all in a handy kit with handle. Kinda pricey but I think worth it.
