Your thoughts on this knife?

Hello one and all,

Before I got the BK2 I placed an order for the Kabar Heavy duty Warthog. It seems pretty cool and unusual in shape. Your thoughts?

Also, how does everyone enjoy Kabar? I just have the Dozier folder and it has been great for me thus far. Just wondering about their fixed blade and your thoughts on it; I know I know, I can be pretty redundant. Now for the blade:

I like the looks of that one. Never seen it before although it looks like something Pitdog would have designed.

I saw this one also in the KA-BAR catalog, but thought it wasn't going to be available for another month or two. It is definitely on my want to own list.

When I first placed the order back in march, Tomar's ETA was april 15, when I realized it is past april 15th, I went back to the site to check the status and saw they moved the ETA to June 15th!! I'm really anxious now because it seems like a good chopper and fun :D
 
I like the wide blade on it. Hopefully I can try one out sometime, decide whether or not to get one.
 
Not sure how I feel about it. I liked the original warthog, but it seemed to be too much blade for most "mundane" chores. It batonned well, and could render kitchen meat and camp meat fast, but carving and cutting seemed a little laborious to me.

That's one of the knives that will be up for "Win it before You can buy it" contests I'm planning on doing, soon, I hope. Kabar has their hands full at the moment, but don't worry, some lucky BFC member will get one before they can buy it. :)

What contest is this you speak of Moose?

I like my BK 2 enough that I won't stray in what I consider a similar pattern.
 
Something I have had planned for a few weeks. Kabar is supplying some of the new lineup for me to give away soon. I was hoping they would come in a few weeks ago, but Kabar is going like crazy to get the new lineup ready to go, so, soon, me thinks.

I at least like the looks of it. Not sure how it would function though. Would like to try...
 
I didn't know there was a previous Warthog. When I first saw the current issue of it, that it would be much better with an exposed pommel like the Becker's have. I would really like to see a Becker version of the Warthog. I would rather the tang was not fully wrapped by the handle, which makes me think narrow tang. I'd much rather see two slabs on a full tang.
