i'd be interested inseeing some body armor jackets if any of you happen to have tastes/requirements that run in that direction...

Any jacket that keeps me from getting skin grafts. But to be specific, 5 years ago i crashed my FZR1000 doing 60mph after hitting a guard rail, then slid 40 yards. It was a cold day and i had on a marker ski jacket with two sweatshirts underneath. after all that sliding i got up and walked away. Everything was torn up, and my fullface helmet was a mess; but i walked away.

I have a spare one that is in perfect condition, 2 years old, size 42 black. If anyone is interested I'll sell it for $100.00.

My favorite is my Schott leather motorcycle. I will hand that down to my son one of these days.

I have a First Gear Kilimanjaro that I have used heavily since 2001 and it is in great shape. The best synthetic jackets I have seen for long dual sport style riding are the Aerostitch Darrien's, the BMW house jackets, and the First Gear.

The problem with an armored synthetic jacket is that you can only really use it when riding. A good leather jacket looks great anywhere, my Kilimanjaro would look insane anywhere but on the bike.

Take Care,
Jeff

I like bike clothes that when it starts raining you don't have to pull over and put a rain suit on. I have the Aerostitch Darien and it's nice - I don't know about "ultimate" though. The ultimate jacket would be comfortable from 0-115 degrees, be totally waterproof, protect like armored leather, look good, ummm...I guess that would do!

I use a First Gear Scout (first edition version). First Gear (Hein Gericke) have the best thermo liners with that mylar stuff in them.

Sorry, no armor for me. Had an Aerostitch, but I have gotten fed up with velcro, so regretfully a Bimmer acquaintance has it now.

Langlitz on the west coast.

Buy American, and accept no substitutes!

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

This is what I wear when I ride.
Although mine is nice and broken in
and isn't all shiney like this one.
Super quality, thick as hell leather.
If I go down, I don't want some micro thin
fashion leather between my hide and the road.
