Hopefully that title got your attention!

Walking Man told me that I have earned my Piglet Stripes due to some recent acquisitions. I said I wanted to be a HOG, but was told by another member (TLMZDAC) that HOGS had real staying power and a bit of a psychotic tinge...below is my response...I'm just curious how some of the rest of you got the "bug" originally, and if the 'psychosis' is acquired or if it's just in the blood. The funny thing is that my dad was a collector, but I never knew it (I didn't live with him). He died and I found a chest with about 100 different knives in it. My knife jones wasn't "learned" from my dad, since I was picking them up before I knew of his hobby - so maybe it's genetic! This was my response to Walking Man and TLMZDAC:

I started on this forum in Feb just wanting to get an I.D. on an EK knife that I inherited - I got to browsing around and now three months later I have a freaking pile of Infi and SR 101. I don't regret it though!

I started with C&R rifles....and then came across little spyders....and then I think it was a inexpensive Howler........and then a HHFSH,......and then....THE NIP!!!
 
I started with a Tan Camp Tramp from a forum member and once I got it in my hands I knew I needed MORE, which led to a BM, SJ TAC, HR, PBF, BR, RW, and more to come! The "problem" is that I bought about 5 of those in the last 5 days! I'd like to get my hands on a NIP

I started with Case knives. I collected every '65-'69 pattern. Then I started on 1975 Case XX because I liked the handles. I got all of them and moved on to Muskrats. Then I got into Randall Made Knives. I ordered umpteen Randalls until they started charging a $50 deposit.

I got into Busse's around the time the Hell Razor debuted. I bought a dozen the first month. I've got around fifty now, but they come and they go.........;)
