My 15y.o. son and I went hunting on the last weekend of the youth firearm season, and he managed to put a doe down before the sun was even above the horizon (gotta love that legal 30 minutes before sunrise!). When we arrived, we found the blind wasn't where we staked it due to the massive storm two days prior, so we tracked it down and put it back in place and settled down a lot later than we wanted. 20 minutes after the start of legal shooting light, he spotted this doe walking along the treebreak about 140yds away. I bleated to get her to stop, and she turned a bit toward us. She never took another step. By 6:55am, we were done hunting and just had the field dressing to do before heading home to process it in the garage. All the anti-gun fanatics who say there is no useful purpose for an AR-15 have never hunted with the 6.8SPC. The exit wound of the 120gr Hornady SST was massive!
