YouTube uploading help

I keep getting unkown errors, and sometimes I can get 20-50% uploaded before the error hits. I had luck a few months ago publishing through windows movie maker, but not since then has one went through.

I have tried Google chrome, IE, FireFox... I'm using Win7 for OS, and the computer is a new-ish acer laptop, and I have the file set up right.

179 MB and its a .WMV file... about 5-7 minutes long so we "should" be good there.


Any fellow youtubers have the same unknown error, I'v probably tried 40+ times to upload videos with this same error popping up EVERY time.

I haven't uploaded any for a while but I've never had any problems,I use Firefox with an Acer latop,windows 7,everything that you have,most of my videos are smaller than what your trying to upload,my longest one is probably 2 minutes long.What your experiencing sounds more like a connection issue to me.

only 179mb? that is nothing! some of mine hit about 1000, due to HD. maybe you could try using a different upload option, there is one that doesnt have the progress bar that might work, but your "SE EDC" video was 8 or so minutes and worked fine.

Crazily, I found that I would get an error code when I had the wrong characters in the text edit window. Where you write your description.

There are some characters that don't jive. It would appear COMPLETELY unrelated, but that's what I learned and solved. Wait till it's completely uploaded and then edit the text window. Bammo.
