I don't know about you all, but from time to time i like to reread what Uncle Bill wrote about starting H.I, Life in Nepal and the various other subjects he took the time to write about. It helps me put things in great perspective and helps me to understand just what the mission is, How far H.I. has come and how a bit of tenacity, friendship, integrity and plain old good products can take a business...and a man. I myself have no war stories, no overseas journeys full of wonder and excitement to regale you all with, but his lifes journeys and his writings truly show that however exciting or mundane ones life experiences are, there is always a path from darkness into the light should you choose to acknowledge and follow it. All it takes is to follow what is deeply imbedded it all our hearts.

Karda,

Thanks for posting this. You have just made my day! Uncle Bill has a way of putting things into perspective for all of us. Re-reading his posts is like inhaling a breath of fresh air after being trapped in a smokey room for long enough that we forgot we were in a smokey room. It makes going back to that smokey room a bit easier knowing that we can take in this breath of fresh air again at another time in the future.

Even though I arrived late to the party.. and never knew him but through his posts and the khukuri's with his initials on them.. I feel privileged to be able to read and reread his posts, as if I was a part of those early conversations. He still lives in his words, and I find that I respect him highly, and his wisdom.. borne out of his experiences.. can be applied to everything.
Thank you for the post.
