I need some help here. I'm having a difficult time deciding on a Yuna knife blade profile!:D

Since I intend to EDC the knife utility is important, but the coolest blade profiles (Assassin and Fighter) seem like they either may NOT be good for day-to-day tasks...

More practical might be either the Zen or the Zombie slayer shapes, but their closed profiles are more bulky than the others. So I'm left looking at the Hard Drop Point, which of course looks like a great blade, but is also the most conventional.

So, could any one with experience with the Ynua blades chime in with their opinions on EDC?

Thanks :)

I EDC these Yuna knives. I hope this helps. They are 2 Yuna EQ-2's & a Mini Hard 2.

yessir, those are nice! you've got great taste ;)

yuna's work is so different from most other's that i'm happy to patronize him.

so, there must be other's here with a yuna knife. i'm still eager to hear from an assassin/zen/zombie owner to report how they like their blades.

I EDC a eq2 zdp/ats laminated and it is almost perfect for edc. In fact the EQs are designed for just that purpose, EDC. I also have a mini hard 1 that is bigger but still very fun to edc and insanely tough.

SteelSnob, how "big" do you find the mini-hard?

right now i'm considering a full-size Hard and am wondering if it might be prohibitive to carry.

as a reference, i find the Spyderco Military to not be too big except that the Spydie hole makes the rear of the blade take up a lot of room @ the top of my pocket. so length doesn't bother me but excessive width might...

It's about 5oz and pretty thick. I think the regular hard would be too big for edc. The mini hard is right at the line of what I will edc. But it's strength, ergos and steel quality make me willing to put up with the size.

The EQ is more suited for edc and will fit easily into the watch pocket of jeans.

5 oz for the mini? wow. yunaknives doesn't list weights and for a 3" blade that's pretty heavy...how's it get so heavy? blade thickness i guess...

still, as long as it's not too bulky i can deal with a few more ozs.

thanks for the info.

any more thoughts from the collective here? :)

It's got a thick frame too. It's a beast of a knife that has withstanded all kinds of hard use. I know everyone says they have hard used knives but I have HARD USED the mh1. Done things like baton through thick cat5 cables with no edge damage or blade play.
