Yuna knives: need experiences, feedback

Guys,

I've been in love with the looks and design features of Yuna knives for a long time now. I am going to order a custom and have narrowed it down to one by Andrew Demko (who I have experience in dealing with, all positive) and Yuna. I just love the looks and specs of the Hard 2 Type S, the laminated ZDP-189 appeals to me, but I have never handled a Yuna and have never bought a knife of that class blind.
So who has one? Or owned one? Are they as good, well built, lasting, sharp and generally as awesome as they seem? Or (for those who can compare) am I better off with something by Andrew Demko?

Lemme know what you think. Even if you have no hands-on experience, your opinion on aesthetics is appreciated. ;)

One of my grails is the zombie slayer in Type S. I've been drooling over Yunas for a while too. And no, I haven't pulled the trigger on one yet.

Yuna's knives are top notch and so is his service. The overall F&F might be a little rough but no other knife I've owned has felt like "mine" as much as the knife he made for me. I sold my mini hard for charity and IMMEDIATELY ordered another knife from him.
As the knife breaks in it gets really smooth and a casual stropping keeps it scary sharp. Mine honestly looked brand new when I sold it, I really never abused it by cutting metal but it did it's fair share of damage on wood and cardboard and what not.
Long story short, yes buy one.
On that note though Hitachi no longer makes the laminated ATS34/ZDP189 steel, his blades are now 100% ZDP189.

I've wanted a Yuna since the day I laid eyes on one. Just beautiful.
This thread may push me to save up some cash for one.
Can we get some Yuna porn going? Got any pics of yours, Mr. Clean?

I had an all Ti handled Hard 2.The action was smooth as can be.The lockup was rock solid.Flawless F&F.Yun was very responsive to my requests & is a professional through & through.

I had to sell this one, because it was just a little too big for me & it barely got carried.I'm currently seeking a smaller Yuna.

They also hold their value very well,if you ever decide to sell.

IIRC,It was actually less than if you got separate handle & bolster materials.Depending on which materials of course.

I remember back when Yuna was still selling blades on BF. He had a much more "organic" style back then. same shapes, but more natural materials. I would love to get my hands on one of those. woe is my for not buying one back then. (not that I could afford it, and I certainly can't now)

Everyone needs one! I had the mini hard 2 and now have a Qi on order. A friend of mine has a Zombie Slayer (IIRC) full size and it's Spyderco Military length! Mini size knife, small choil, that's the way to go I think

Thx a lot for those, Mr Clean, I know now for sure that if I do order one, it won't be a Mini, I want it bigger than that. :D The small choil is much better though. And what an awesome design it is.

I don't own one but I've seen Yun post here a few times. He seems super friendly and professional, and I wouldn't have any reservations about dealing with him on that level. And I haven't heard anything but praise about his knives from owners.

His EQ-1 is on my wish list.

The Yuna knives are very nice indeed, though I find myself wishing I could adjust the pivot myself. I'm also slightly disappointed that the laminated ZDP is no longer offered, as the lamination line is a thing of beauty.

It only looks small, trust me! It's a friggin' tank! If you want one of the biggest, baddest ones, then yeah - go for the full sive!

The adjusting thing is a non issue. I've had a few knifemakers tell me not to bother, it's good to go perfectly from them (Yuna and RJ Martin). Clean with compressed air and call it good!

It doesn't look small at all, roughly the same length as the Spyderco GB, I just want one bigger than that. ;)
