Wellll . . . you know the drill, what's the plans, shows, and work projects for the upcoming weekend?

I'm going to finisha couple of blades, one with a sculpted handle that has been giving me fits, then onto forging a piece of 6150 that Danbo gave me. I'll find time to fit in a couple of beers too. :D

Gonna work on cleaning out the garage, so that I can have room to set up my forge and anvil. This is going to be a huge job, as my garage/shop is more of a mess than most. The good thing is, I will probably find some stuff that I have been looking for. :)

I finished my spurs from last weekend so its time to start a new project. I have some small scraps of 440C left I think I'll make some letter opener/desk knives out of today. Then hopefully start a big hunter with my last chunk of O1. Need to order some steel, and renew my membership here too.

Have a good and safe weekend everybody. :)

I'm headed to the NECKA Hammer-In to meet up with all my knifemaking heroes! Woohoo! :D

picking out boulders for the yard

start the bevel on a persian

housework :(

cheers

wire up an onboard charger for my boat and figure out how to change my fish finder out for a better model.
finish up at least one custom order so I can get it out of the shop.
hit golf balls at the range. I don't golf yet, I just hit at balls.

Start Saturday by helping to plant one of my oldest friends who passed suddenly last Thursday at 41. If I'm up to it and the after event is too much to deal with, I might take a contemplative 2 hour ride up to Solvang for the Nordic Knives sponsered Custom Makers Only show and try to make myself feel better with a J.W. Smith frame lock or something. You can count on booze featuring prominently in my Saturday night plans. Sunday should find me out buying a new bed for our guest room as Mom is coming to visit this coming week. If I'm lucky after that I''ll spend a little time in th eshop twisting dials and finish the day with a couple beers killing aliens or terrorists on my computer.

It is 4:00am and I starting to cook for the Hammer-In. Good old style Portuguese Caciola (marinated pork) and black beans and rice. Come sunrise and stop the rain.

Well, it started out OK. Last night, went to Uxbride, Ma to see my favorite Celtic band from Canada, the Glenngarry Bhoys. Didn't get home till 2 AM. Now I'll pull the scooter out of the garage, and it's off to IG's, parking it a real b***h over their unless ya have 2 wheels instead of 4. This is going to be a great day. :D :D

Jmxcpter -- I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

IG and friends -- take some pics today!

Well, I had all kinds of plans that went down the toilet. My wife is back in the hospital, 80 miles from here. They are going to work on her heart again Monday. I drive there every day. John, that's too bad about your friend. We are sorry about the sad news.

John, I hope your wife is doing well. While I spent the day grieving and celebrating my friend, nothing could change his disposition, while hope might have a positive impact on your wife. You can count on her being in my prayers.

John

Kim's in our prayers too John.

I'm going to try to finish up the ebony grips on a nice American Western Arms 32-20 cal Peacekeeper. (Why they put those dorky softwood grips on that beautiful gun in the first place no one can understand. The ebony looks right.) I finally made the bolsters for a half-sized standard tanto, which I'll put on this morning. I'm also going to put the handles on a small Alaska Knives blade I was given, and that I finished grinding yesterday.

Friday night I spent with a friend, regrinding the cast aluminum handle on one of those $7 Pakistani fantasy knives from SMKW or somewhere. How I got talked into donating $30 worth of grinding to that knife I still do not fathom. I think social workers must be specially trained in secret Machiavellian/psychological manipulation techniques. At least he has good taste in beer.

And now the weekend is almost gone. Dang!

Damn... I missed out on two great events... :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:

Had to work both mornings and work around the house.... :grumpy: :grumpy:

but I had my two kids all weekend; just don't ask me if it was worth missin' the Bhoys (and the Ghirl!!!) as my kids are acting out right now...

T Blade, was Shelly playing again? I heard she caught her hand in a bus door or something.
