Scored some fat GW's from the store, I really like the red/blk, I think it'll look good in ox blood colored pants. I included the LE for perspective.

Looking through the Warden drawer, all my GW's are satin with the exception of 3, a black tiger, a Blk/Blk, and a sage (goes with the Sage milli's). Only satin GW I'm missing is the black tie.

I've been quietly picking up Basics series knives for a while, if I saw a deal, I tried to grab it. Then a fellow Hog ;) turned on the lights and upset the whole Basics equilibrium that existed. Out of a multi person deal, I was able to get a smooth coat B-9 (user !) to go with my mint crinkle coat. I was able to clean the scratches up on the smooth coat 9 with some 000x steel wool for the picture.

Last week it was a B-7 crinkle I snagged off the exchange to go with my B-7 smooth coat .

As soon as the crinkle coat B-5 shows up, I'll post pictures of the crinkle and smooth coat Basics sets I've put together.

My passion has alway been EDC sized knives, I've carried some sort of 4" hunter most of my life. I've always liked elegant "gentleman's knife" style blades. For over 45 years, I never owned a knife with a blade over 7".

So how'd I wind up with 9 blades over 9" (and I've got another BM coming in the mail) ?

congrats on all of it. I think Tony is your competition for Basics.

But to answer your question. You ended up with 9 inchers because a bigun can do everything a miniie can do, but a minie cannot do everthing a bigun can do.
 
The LE is still my favorite, but the fatty with the dark handles is pretty cool. Who am I kidding... they are all pretty cool!:thumbup::cool:
 
VERY Nice! Good work cleaning up the basic9 - looks almost mint!
 
Those red and blacks are almost black folks - I was surprised by how dark they are with SMALL red higlights (flecks) I thinks I was expecting more like the black and tan look.

Man am I glad I ordered the BLACK/red .220:D

I stay away from bright colors and thought it looked almost blackish in skunk's pic. It looks even more subdued in your pics. I love it!

I'm also glad I kept all the .140's, except the orange. Yep, it was to bright for me...I'm almost sure the pumkin warden on order will be also.

edit- oh yea, I may have to find me some of those ox blood pants you speak of to go with the GW. And maybe some orange for the pumkin GW...nah, the ox blood should do

No love for me yet. But HomeSeller's point is why I bought all three. Sometimes, it's hard to tell exactly what they're going to look like until you get them in hand. Flash, lighting, angles--all can affect what they look like in a photo.

Those new GWs look like they spent too long in the logo laser room. :D The Janitor probably left his bottle of JWB or Pigs Nose in there and when the operator(s) found it they, understandably, got distracted. ;)

I feel your pain on the outing of the Basics. I'm still looking for 3 to complete the set. (a smooth 7 and crinkle 5 & 9) I fear the market just doubled or trebled on these Preciouses. :( NO REGRETS! :)

That Black and Red fatty looks sweet! Glad I scored one. Slide that one into a Tan sheath and it would round out nicely! Nice score!
