Hi Guys.
This is my Yvsa Cherokee Special all decked out in silver and with bone and horn inlay.
Shameless plug for Himalayan Imports.
I freely gave Himalayan Imports this design to make and to sell so if your heart's desire is a fancy khukuri, it can be yours and it's very reasonable for what you get.
The khukuri is 17"oal and weighs only 1Lb 6oz due to its deep fullers. To me it chops more like a heavier khukuri.
The small knives have a 5" & 4" blade and are designed so that when your hand is closed your pinkie finger is behind the butt preventing the hand from slipping forward when making a penetrating cut. The 3 cornered awl makes holes that resist tearing out unlike making a hole with a knife that almost always tears out on me.
From drawing to prototype to completed rig was 7 months, 18 days and actually took only a couple of months after Uncle Bill sent the wood prototype over to Nepal.
This is my first truely custom knife, actually knives, and I am One Happy Camper!!!
And yep, I am going to use, but never abuse her!!!!
There's more detailed posts on the H.I.Forum if you happen to be interested.
Whatcha think?
