I have used Z-Max mule in the kitchen for some time keep. Expectedly it kept the edge well. The (nice) surprise was, it did not take any edge damage at all during the use. I was impressed with the performance but of course I did not do anything hardcore with it in the kitchen. Just once I had the edge contact with a metal (which a similar contact damaged edges before in different steels and geometries) and the edge did not get damage. Even though, my use was limited, I got the impression that Z-Max in given geometry (mules are not the thinnest of the knives) is a good user knife for cutting related tasks. Of course I would not take a knife made in Z-Max for bushcraft use. There are so much better knives for that. But for EDC, hunting, cutting any type of material and fishing, I would be happy to use Z-Max.
